Abrams\u2019 next steps included expanding executive power and weakening Congress and the judicial branch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cLike, I don\u2019t know, the Supreme Court is giving you unfettered power and saying we don\u2019t have the ability to stop things,\u201d Abrams said, presumably referencing the recent Supreme Court ruling limiting nationwide injunctions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Abrams then conveniently avoided mentioning former President Joe Biden, who notably ignored the Supreme Court\u2019s ruling striking down his student loan forgiveness plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abrams then said autocracies then \u201cgut the civil service\u201d to \u201cbreak democracy\u201d and put loyalists in the FBI \u201cso they go after your enemies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She again failed to mention that under the Biden administration, Trump was charged<\/a> in four criminal cases that were widely viewed as political prosecutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nAbrams said that Trump \u201c[going] after DEI\u201d was evidence that he was looking for someone to blame, which she said was another hallmark of autocracies.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
She then suggested Trump\u2019s mobilization of the National Guard and the U.S. Marines in Los Angeles was one step away from a full autocracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
