On Wednesday, French President Emmanuel Macron filed a lawsuit against podcaster\u00a0Candace Owens\u00a0over her repeated claims that his wife, Brigitte, is a man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lawsuit, which was filed in the Superior Court of the State of Delaware, calls Owens\u2019 claims \u201cdevastating lies\u201d and adds that the podcast host \u201cdisregarded all credible evidence disproving her claim in favor of platforming known conspiracy theorists and proven defamers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2024, Owens \u2014who was then a host at\u00a0Ben Shapiro\u2019s\u00a0outlet the Daily Wire \u2014 boldly stated that she\u2019d stake her\u00a0\u201centire professional reputation\u201d<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0Brigitte Macron\u00a0being a man. Since then, Owens has repeatedly insisted that the French first lady is a biological man. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Owens even launched an eight-episode series called \u201cBecoming Brigitte\u201d to further examine the conspiracy theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That series, the suit alleges, is packed with \u201coutlandish, defamatory, and far-fetched fictions\u201d including \u201cthat Mrs. Macron was born a man, stole another person\u2019s identity, and transitioned to become Brigitte; Mrs. Macron and President Macron are blood relatives committing incest; President Macron was chosen to be the President of France as part of the CIA-operated MKUltra program or a similar mind-control program; and Mrs. Macron and President Macron are committing forgery, fraud, and abuses of power to conceal these secrets.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n \u201cThese claims are demonstrably false, and Owens knew they were,\u201d the suit states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
