Miles Taylor, a former Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official during the Trump administration, said Saturday he believes he could be targeted next by federal investigators after the FBI searched the home of former national security adviser John Bolton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The search took place early Friday at Bolton\u2019s residence in Bethesda, Maryland. The FBI confirmed it was conducting a \u201ccourt-authorized law enforcement activity,\u201d reportedly tied to Bolton\u2019s handling of classified material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taylor, who served as a deputy chief of staff at DHS, told MSNBC\u2019s Jonathan Capehart that he and his family expect he may be among the next individuals investigated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cWhen my wife and I woke up and saw the news, she basically said to me, \u2018It\u2019s coming,\u2019\u201d Taylor said. He suggested the Biden-era Justice Department has been pursuing political opponents and claimed a \u201crevenge campaign\u201d is underway.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Taylor, who has previously accused President Trump of keeping a \u201cblacklist\u201d of critics, said the situation raises concerns about fairness in the justice system. \u201cIt\u2019s not about us,\u201d he said, referring to himself and Bolton. \u201cIt\u2019s about the criminal justice system that all Americans expect to treat them fairly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bolton, who was national security adviser from 2018 to 2019, has often clashed with Trump since leaving the administration. The raid on his home marked a significant escalation in tensions between the former president and his one-time adviser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When asked about the raid, Trump told reporters at the White House on Friday that he was not informed ahead of time but expected a briefing later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
