A grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia has indicted former FBI Director James Comey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Comey was reportedly indicted on one count of making false statements and one count of obstruction of justice for allegedly lying under oath to Congress. The 12 grand jurors reportedly declined to indict on additional charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Comey\u00a0declared he\u2019s \u201cnot afraid\u201d in a\u00a0video<\/a>\u00a0posted to his Instagram responding to his\u00a0historic indictment<\/a>\u00a0on two charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMy family and I have known for years that there are costs to standing up to\u00a0Donald Trump, but we couldn\u2019t imagine ourselves living any other way. We will not live on our knees, and you shouldn\u2019t either,\u201d began Comey. \u201cSomebody that I love dearly recently said that fear is the tool of a tyrant and she\u2019s right. But I\u2019m not afraid and I hope you\u2019re not either. I hope instead you are engaged. You are paying attention. And you will vote like your beloved country depends upon it, which it does.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMy heart is broken for the Department of Justice, but I have great confidence in the federal judicial system and I\u2019m innocent,\u201d he concluded. \u201cSo let\u2019s have a trial and keep the faith.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
