Payne claimed that her husband, 44-year-old\u00a0John David Gibson, has been harassing her amid their divorce since last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfter my estranged husband, arrested three times since I filed for divorce, assaulted me during a June 2025 custody exchange while I protected our son, he filed a retaliatory criminal complaint against me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\"><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">After my estranged husband, arrested three times since I filed for divorce, assaulted me during a June 2025 custody exchange while I protected our son, he filed a retaliatory criminal complaint against me.<\/p>&mdash; Susanna Gibson (@SusannaSGibson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SusannaSGibson\/status\/1973512233461359060?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 1, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Payne said she turned herself in after a misdemeanor warrant was issued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Democrat\u2019s husband denied ever assaulting his wife. Mediaite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/former-democratic-candidate-targeted-over-porn-past-charged-with-domestic-battery\/\">reported<\/a> that Gibson was arrested in December for violating a protection order and using threatening language with his wife. He said the incident stemmed from a tense argument with his wife\u2019s new boyfriend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Payne\u00a0and Gibson grabbed headlines in 2023 when Payne was running for office, and videos the couple had\u00a0posted\u00a0on the porn site Chaturbate were discovered and exposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The couple was accused of making the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/tv\/the-democratic-party-is-essentially-pornhub-now-claims-laura-ingraham\/\">videos<\/a>&nbsp;for \u201ctips,\u201d though they denied that the videos were for profit.
