One recent flashpoint came with Bondi\u2019s handling of materials related to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Bondi had publicly suggested that relevant files were \u201con her desk,\u201d raising expectations among Trump\u2019s supporters that long-sought disclosures were imminent. When the Justice Department later released binders that critics said contained largely irrelevant or already public information, backlash quickly spread across conservative media and among grassroots MAGA activists. The episode contributed to perceptions among some Trump allies that Bondi had overpromised and underdelivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump\u2019s frustrations, according to the Journal, are part of a broader effort to pressure the Justice Department to act more forcefully against figures he views as responsible for years of investigations into his conduct. The report noted that Trump has discussed appointing special counsels as a way to bypass what he sees as slow-moving or resistant leadership at DOJ.
