Actor Robert De Niro said during a Monday interview that he believes President Donald Trump would \u201cnever leave\u201d office voluntarily and argued that it would be up to the public to remove him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace\u2019s podcast, The Best People<\/em>, De Niro dismissed the suggestion that Trump\u2019s term would simply end in three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI wonder what it is about people’s inability to see beyond the next three \u2014 he’s gone in three years,\u201d Wallace said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell, he will never leave. We have to make him leave. You see, he jokes now about nationalizing the elections \u2014 he’s not joking. We’ve seen enough already. And everybody’s worried about it, but he means it,\u201d De Niro replied.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n When Wallace again asked whether he believed Trump would leave in three years, De Niro doubled down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHe ain\u2019t leaving. No, no way. Let’s not kid ourselves. He will not leave. It’s up to us to get rid of him,\u201d the actor continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n De Niro also suggested that Trump might not respect midterm election results and called for widespread public demonstrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou start hearing it all over now,\u201d the actor said. \u201cIt’s up to you. Damn right, it’s about the people. The people got \u2014 like Vietnam. You got to get out there and protest. The \u2018No Kings\u2019 coming. It’s got to be not 7, 8, 9 million. It’s got to be way, way more than that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
