The political fringe found common ground over the weekend when far-right provocateur Nick Fuentes sat beside Hunter Biden and declared that he wants President Donald Trump and members of his administration impeached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fuentes made the startling remarks during a nearly two-hour interview with the former president\u2019s son on \u201cChannel 5 With Andrew Callaghan<\/a>,\u201d turning the program into an unlikely anti-Trump gripe session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The self-described \u201cAmerica First\u201d commentator told Biden that he is urging his followers to vote for Democrats in the 2026 midterm elections so the party can seize control of the House, launch investigations and bring the Trump administration to a grinding halt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe want the Democrats in the House because what they\u2019re going to do is they\u2019re going to use the oversight powers to bring all the corruption to light,\u201d Fuentes said, according to Mediaite<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fuentes then attempted to minimize the controversies surrounding Biden\u2019s foreign business dealings by leveling sweeping allegations against Trump, members of his family and senior administration figures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLet\u2019s say the income you made during Biden was ill-gotten for the sake of example,\u201d Fuentes told the former first son. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t hold a candle. It doesn\u2019t even come close. Doesn\u2019t even touch Jared Kushner, Howard Lutnick, Steve Witkoff, Don Jr., Trump himself.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Fuentes offered no evidence for his claims during the exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt\u2019s just a different sport. It\u2019s a different game entirely,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd I want all that corruption to be revealed. And I think the Democrats are going to do it. I hope they get impeached.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Biden helped set up the impeachment rant by asking Fuentes whether Trump had damaged the country to the point that America was living under a \u201cdictatorship-lite.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fuentes rejected that label but said he believes Democratic control of the House would allow lawmakers to bury the administration under investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI don\u2019t think they\u2019ll be removed from office, but I think it\u2019ll basically drag this administration to a halt,\u201d Fuentes said. \u201cAnd then \u201928, I think there\u2019s an opportunity for a clean reset with both sides, right and left.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n The sweeping demand was constitutionally muddled. The Constitution gives Congress the authority to impeach the president, vice president and other federal civil officers\u2014not private citizens\u2014and Fuentes did not identify specific impeachable conduct. A House majority can approve articles of impeachment, but removal requires a two-thirds vote in the Senate, according to the Constitution Annotated<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The spectacle also carried a heavy dose of irony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
