Rep. Young Kim (R-CA) has reportedly scrubbed prominent references to President Donald Trump and his \u201cAmerica First\u201d agenda from her campaign homepage as she fights for political survival in a rare Republican-versus-Republican election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The makeover comes after Trump-centered messaging helped define Kim\u2019s campaign during the primary \u2014 and as she now competes for Democrats, independents and moderate voters against fellow GOP Rep. Ken Calvert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Politico\u2019s California Playbook<\/em> first reported<\/a> the changes Tuesday, prompting additional coverage from Mediaite<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the June primary, Kim\u2019s campaign homepage reportedly presented her as a \u201cProven Fighter who will Stand with President Trump to deliver a bold America First Agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another prominent message promised \u201cAmerica First Leadership to Defend the American Dream,\u201d according to an archived copy of the website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Neither message currently appears on the homepage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Instead, Kim\u2019s revamped campaign website<\/a> now declares that she is \u201ctaking on Career Politicians to Restore the American Dream.\u201d A second message simply describes her as \u201cFighting for the American Dream.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The apparent shift is not limited to the website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Campaign signs Kim promoted before the primary identified her as a \u201cTrump Republican<\/a>.\u201d Signs highlighted by her campaign after the primary instead feature a pocketbook-focused message: \u201cCut Taxes & Lower Costs!<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\nTrump Disappears From The Homepage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
