{"id":12992,"date":"2026-10-20T15:29:38","date_gmt":"2026-10-20T19:29:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/?p=12992"},"modified":"2026-10-20T15:29:38","modified_gmt":"2026-10-20T19:29:38","slug":"trump-and-vance-just-put-a-price-on-exposing-government-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/government\/trump-and-vance-just-put-a-price-on-exposing-government-fraud\/njackson\/2026\/10\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump And Vance Just Put A Price On Exposing Government Fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Donald Trump has a new pitch for Americans who know where taxpayer money is being stolen: Turn in the fraudsters \u2014 and collect a cut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trump and Vice President JD Vance announced a $25 million whistleblower incentive program Tuesday, adding a financial reward to the administration\u2019s campaign against fraud in federal programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The idea is straightforward: Give people with inside information a reason to come forward before more taxpayer dollars disappear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf anybody turns anybody in\u2026 you get a 1 percent commission, and I think that will be amazing, because the kind of money that\u2019s been stolen is trillions from this country,\u201d Trump said in the Oval Office, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/6160787-trump-vance-whistleblower-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program will offer eligible tipsters up to $30,000 for information leading to a successful fraud conviction or a significant federal enforcement action. The Justice Department will administer the initiative, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfxb.com\/2026\/10\/20\/trump-and-vance-to-launch-new-whistleblower-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WFXB reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trump said Americans can submit tips through <a href=\"https:\/\/fraud.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fraud.gov<\/a>. He also said he would personally resolve competing claims to rewards through binding arbitration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn other words, I\u2019ll determine whether or not the person is deserving\u2026and I will be very generous,\u201d he said, according to The Hill.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Reward For Speaking Up<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conservative YouTuber Nick Shirley joined Trump and Vance for the announcement after drawing national attention with videos investigating suspected childcare fraud in Minnesota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-puts-fraudsters-notice-25m-whistleblower-program-offering-cash-tips-deliver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fox News reported<\/a> that Shirley would receive $10,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program expands the work of Vance\u2019s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, which Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2026\/03\/establishing-the-task-force-to-eliminate-fraud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">established in March<\/a>. Its responsibilities include improving eligibility checks, disrupting fraud networks and preventing improper payments before federal money goes out the door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe president has said it must stop,\u201d Vance said of fraud, according to The Hill. \u201cIt is stopping, and if you want to help us stop it, you get to share in the rewards now, thanks to what the president of the United States has done.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Billions At Stake \u2014 And Concrete Results<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scale of the problem makes a stronger response overdue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gao.gov\/products\/gao-24-105833\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Government Accountability Office study<\/a> estimated annual federal fraud losses of $233 billion to $521 billion, using fiscal 2018\u20132022 data. That estimate predates the new program and underscores how much taxpayer money is at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The administration\u2019s enforcement record already includes substantial seizures and blocked payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In June 2025, the Justice Department announced its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/national-health-care-fraud-takedown-results-324-defendants-charged-connection-over-146\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">largest healthcare fraud takedown<\/a>: charges against 324 defendants tied to schemes involving more than $14.6 billion in alleged intended losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities seized more than $245 million in cash and other assets. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services also reported preventing more than $4 billion in false and fraudulent claims from being paid and suspending or revoking 205 providers\u2019 billing privileges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those figures represent different results: alleged attempted fraud, assets seized and payments blocked \u2014 rather than $14.6 billion recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Federal prosecutors have also secured serious punishment in Minnesota\u2019s long-running Feeding Our Future case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In May, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/feeding-our-future-ringleader-sentenced-500-months\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Justice Department announced<\/a> a 500-month prison sentence for nonprofit founder Aimee Bock over her leading role in a $250 million scheme exploiting a federally funded child nutrition program.
