Former President Donald Trump said during an interview with Fox News’s Tucker Carlson that officials in the Manhattan courthouse where he was arrested apologized to him and were \u201cactually crying.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen I went to the courthouse, which is also a prison in a sense, they signed me in and I\u2019ll tell you, people were crying,\u201d he said. \u201cPeople that work there, professionally work there, that have no problems putting in murderers and they see everybody. It\u2019s tough, tough place and they were crying. They were actually crying.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey said, \u2018I\u2019m sorry.\u2019 They\u2019d say, \u20182024, sir. 2024.\u2019 And tears are pouring down their eyes. I\u2019ve never seen anything like it,\u201d he said. \u201cThose people are phenomenal. Those are your police. Those are the people that work at the courthouse. They\u2019re unbelievable people. Many of them were in tears or close to it. Many apologies. \u2018We\u2019re sorry, sir. We\u2019re sorry.\u2019 They had to have me do certain things they said. They said, \u2018Sir, I can\u2019t believe I have to ask you. I can\u2019t even believe that I have to ask you to do it.\u2019 You can see, so in one sense, it was beautiful because they get it. In another sense, you know, it\u2019s nasty.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump concluded on the subject by saying that \u201cin many ways, it was a beautiful day because the people understand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
