{"id":3890,"date":"2023-04-19T11:10:52","date_gmt":"2023-04-19T15:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/?p=3890"},"modified":"2023-04-19T11:10:52","modified_gmt":"2023-04-19T15:10:52","slug":"georgia-prosecutor-reveals-new-details-of-active-trump-investigation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/news\/georgia-prosecutor-reveals-new-details-of-active-trump-investigation\/njackson\/2023\/04\/","title":{"rendered":"Georgia Prosecutor Reveals New Details of Active Trump Investigation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Things are heating up in Georgia&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Georgia prosecutor <a href=\"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/?s=Fani+Willis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fani Willis<\/a> (D) who is overseeing an investigation into Donald Trump&#8217;s attempts to overturn the 2020 election results indicated Tuesday that she has conducted fresh interviews with some of the Republican activists who falsely claimed to be Georgia\u2019s legitimate presidential electors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fultonclerk.org\/DocumentCenter\/View\/1905\/SPGJ-MOTION-TO-DISQUALIFY-ATTY-KIMBERLY-BOURROUGHS-DEBROW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">court filing Tuesday<\/a>, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis noted that her office conducted those interviews on April 12 and April 14. Willis disclosed in the filing that more than one of the false electors had described potential violations of Georgia state law by another one, according to Politico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Willis is urging the judge overseeing the matter to disqualify the lawyer who represents 10 of the false electors, an arrangement she had previously challenged \u2014 with limited success \u2014 because of the potential for conflict among the different false electors. Now that some have provided testimony implicating others in potential crimes, Willis\u2019 office argued, it is no longer tenable for them to share the same attorney, Kimberly Debrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is unfathomable how Ms. Debrow can offer competent and adequate counsel to her client who has been accused of further crimes,\u201d Willis argues in the filing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fresh batch of interviews is the latest indication the investigation into Trump is ongoing.
