To truly force change we have to effectively leverage these boycotts and go way beyond them.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We need to go after the behemoth investment firms that push and incentivize these corporations to go even more woke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elon Musk just hinted at the next battleground \u2013 courtrooms.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Referring to Target\u2019s decision to sell LGBT-themed items and clothing aimed at families and kids (including \u2018onesies\u2019 for toddlers and books instructing kids on using transgender pronouns),&nbsp;and the ensuing financial backlash, Musk said Friday that it\u2019s just a matter of time before Target faces lawsuits for \u201cdestruction of shareholder value.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWon\u2019t be long before there are class-action lawsuits by shareholders against the company and board of directors for the destruction of shareholder value,\u201d he tweeted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Won\u2019t be long before there are class-action lawsuits by shareholders against the company and board of directors for destruction of shareholder value<\/p>&mdash; Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1664618300041469952?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 2, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Musk made the remarks in response to a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/charliekirk11\/status\/1664286152243937281?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tweet by<\/a>&nbsp;conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who posted about JPMorgan downgrading Target\u2019s stock after suffering its longest consecutive drop in decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kirk replied by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/charliekirk11\/status\/1664648501760868354?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">saying that<\/a>&nbsp;shareholders should organize to get politics out of the \u201chyperpolitical\u201d corporations of today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that is exactly what should be done.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conservatives should also consider buying just one share of each offending company to give them legal rights as shareholders. And then take the companies to court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These lawsuits won&#8217;t just put the offending companies on notice, but their huge investment firm backers too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A big factor encouraging brands to promote transgender ideologies is an attempt to score points on lefty environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards that are being foisted on organizations all over the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And this is a product of leftist political pressures and aggressively activist investment firms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During an appearance on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/woke-corporate-governance-often-stems-involved-investment-firms-former-anheuser-busch-exec\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fox News,<\/a>\u00a0Anson Frericks,\u00a0an ex-top Anheuser-Busch executive, said that quiet pressure from huge investment firms like New York-based BlackRock and Pennsylvania-based Vanguard is behind many of the controversial decisions by the woke companies they are heavily invested in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He noted that BlackRock, Vanguard, and another firm, State Street, manage about $20 trillion in capital and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/04\/07\/inside-the-woke-scoring-system-guiding-american-companies\/\">use their power to promote leftist political agendas<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it\u2019s also not necessarily coming from the investment firms organically, since they too are being pressured by progressive lawmakers overseeing giant government pension funds that the investment firms profit from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These hyper-politicized monster government pension funds are the ones really calling the shots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the huge investment firms mentioned earlier, manages California\u2019s massive pension fund \u2014 the country&#8217;s biggest \u2014 and California\u2019s leftist politicians have a big say in the corporate governance and politics of the firms the fund invests in, Frericks noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn California, for example, they recently have mandated those large pension funds [sic] that they divest from things like fossil fuels and oil and gas\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut they also tell BlackRock, State Street, and Vanguard if they\u2019re going to manage their money, they have to commit to things like ESG \u2014 diversity, equity, inclusion \u2014 and adopt firm-wide commitments that they therefore then force onto all the major companies in corporate America,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, we need to find ways to limit the power and influence of these monstrous and highly politicized government pension funds that use taxpayer funds to push radical agendas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We should also note that this isn\u2019t just a conservative issue. Erin Elmore at Turning Point USA,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/elon-musk-says-target-will-face-shareholder-lawsuits-amid-pro-lgbt-controversy_5310676.html?utm_source=andshare\">reported<\/a>&nbsp;The Epoch Times, argued that calls to boycott Target are \u201cnot necessarily conservative.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, she said, \u201cit\u2019s common sense. Most parents don\u2019t support satanists or little boys wearing girls&#8217; bathing suits,\u201d she\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ErinElmore\/status\/1662808543391522817\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tweeted<\/a>\u00a0on May 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn\u2019t a conservative-liberal thing.
