{"id":477,"date":"2022-09-07T17:12:21","date_gmt":"2022-09-07T17:12:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/?p=477"},"modified":"2022-09-07T17:12:22","modified_gmt":"2022-09-07T17:12:22","slug":"steve-bannon-breaks-silence-following-state-indictment-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/news\/steve-bannon-breaks-silence-following-state-indictment-charges\/njackson\/2022\/09\/","title":{"rendered":"Steve Bannon Breaks Silence Following State Indictment Charges"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Steve Bannon, a former strategist and staunch ally to former President Trump, has responded to the indictment he&#8217;s facing in New York stemming from the federal charges he faced from a fraud scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bannon is expected to turn himself into authorities this week after being indicted on state-level charges stemming from his 2020 scheme where he allegedly defrauded Trump supporters who donated funds to crowdsource a U.S.-Mexico border wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was accused of stealing $1 million to pay an alleged co-conspirator and hundreds of thousands in personal expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/steve-bannon-responds-after-being-indicted-on-state-charges-in-new-york\">The Daily Wire<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cJust days after being swatted three different times by deranged thugs from New York City inspired by the Biden Administration to assassinate me by police, the Soros-backed DA has now decided to pursue phony charges against me 60 days before the midterm election because [his show] is the major source of the MAGA grassroots movement,\u201d Bannon claimed. \u201cThe SDNY did the exact same thing in August 2020 to try to take me out of the election. It didn\u2019t work then, it certainly won\u2019t work now. This is nothing more than a partisan political weaponization of the criminal justice system.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cThey are coming after all of us, not only President Trump and myself,\u201d he concluded. \u201cI am never going to stop fighting. In fact, I have not yet begun to fight. They will have to kill me first.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, Bannon received a pardon from former President Donald Trump in the federal case before the trial had a chance to conclude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The case which was initially started by New York District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. is expected to be continued by anti-Trump Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg (D).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fresh indictment that facing Bannon comes after he was found guilty of one count of contempt of Congress for refusing to appear for a deposition and another involving his refusal to produce documents to the January 6th House Select Committee. Each count carries a maximum of 30 days in jail and fines ranging from $100 to $100,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cThe subpoena to Stephen Bannon was not an invitation that could be rejected or ignored,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-dc\/pr\/stephen-k-bannon-found-guilty-jury-two-counts-contempt-congress\">said<\/a>\u00a0Matthew M. Graves, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. \u201cMr. Bannon had an obligation to appear before the House Select Committee to give testimony and provide documents.
