Kushner said on the Lex Fridman Podcast.<\/a>\u00a0\u201cBut you know, she\u2019d call me say, well you know, \u2018our friends were on the Upper East Side were talking with Chuck Schumer who says Jared\u2019s going to jail.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\nKushner attended a now-infamous meeting between\u00a0Donald Trump\u00a0Jr., former Trump campaign chairman\u00a0Paul Manafort\u00a0and a woman described as a Russian government lawyer offering dirt on Hillary Clinton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kushner said on the podcast that he didn\u2019t take the allegations \u201ctoo seriously\u201d at first, because he felt there were \u201cno underlying problems to the accusation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI felt like this is one of those things where they\u2019re going to try and catch you and then if you step on the line, they catch with one misrepresentation, they\u2019re gonna try to put you in jail or worse \u2026 and so, for me, that was a big concern,\u201d Kushner said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said he probably spent more than 20 hours testifying before different committees and spent millions of dollars \u201cout of my own pocket\u201d on legal fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
