The former President who is facing a litany of federal charges stemming from his alleged interference in the 2020 election pushed back on Tuesday\u2019s ABC News\u00a0report<\/a>\u00a0that former Trump Chief of Staff\u00a0Mark Meadows\u00a0took an immunity deal to testify to a grand jury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jonathan Karl\u00a0reported<\/a> that Meadows spoke with special counsel\u00a0Jack Smith\u2019s\u00a0team at least three times this year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The sources said Meadows informed Smith\u2019s team that he repeatedly told Trump in the weeks after the 2020 presidential election that the allegations of significant voting fraud coming to them were baseless, a striking break from Trump\u2019s prolific rhetoric regarding the election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the sources, Meadows also told the federal investigators Trump was being \u201cdishonest\u201d with the public when he first claimed to have won the election only hours after polls closed on Nov. 3, 2020, before final results were in.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n \u201cObviously, we didn\u2019t win,\u201d a source quoted Meadows as telling Smith\u2019s team in hindsight per Karl\u2019s report, which strikes at the heart of both the federal and Fulton County case against Trump for criminally conspiring to defraud the American people that a free and fair election was \u201crigged.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trump took to Truth Social and suggested that while he didn\u2019t think Meadows was the sort to lie to prosecutors to get \u201cIMMUNITY.\u201d He then passively aggressively suggested Meadows was among \u201cweaklings and cowards\u201d that make a deal and are \u201cso bad for the future our Failing Nation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
