ANALYSIS<\/strong> \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Are Democrats wetting their beds about Joe Biden?\u00a0<\/strong>As I wrote\u00a0about earlier<\/a>, even the New York Times (NYT) is admitting Biden is losing in the polls to Donald Trump in five key electoral states.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And David Axelrod, chief strategist for Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns, and a senior advisor to the former president Obama, is sending a message to the elderly Biden \u2013 \u201cthis is your last chance \u2013 get out now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is one of Obama\u2019s top advisors, so it seems like a veiled message from the ex-president himself to Biden that it\u2019s time to quit. We will likely hear this chorus to grow among Democrat movers and shakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\u00a0reported by<\/a>\u00a0The Hill:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When questioned about his comments Monday, Axelrod told CNN that it\u2019s a good time for Biden to check if he should keep up his campaign. Sunday marked one year before the election.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs I\u2019ve said for like a couple years now, the issue\u2019s not \u2014 for him, is not political, it’s actuarial. You can see that in this poll and there\u2019s just a lot of concern about the age issue, and that is something I think he needs to ponder. Just do a check and say, \u2018Is this the right thing to do?\u2019\u201d Axelrod said.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIs this the best path? I suspect that he will say yes, but time is fleeting here, and this is probably the last moment for him to do that check, and it\u2019s probably good if he does,\u201d the Obama <\/a>alum added.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

By \u2018actuarial,\u2019 Axelrod was referring to Biden\u2019s age, calling it is \u201chis biggest liability\u201d and something he cannot change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmong all the unpredictables there is one thing that is sure: the age arrow only points in one direction,\u201d\u00a0Axelrod wrote on X<\/a>.\u00a0Meaning, Biden is only going downhill from here.<\/p>\n\n\n

The NYT poll found Biden being trounced by Trump in five out of six battleground states including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania by margins of 3 to 10 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The poll also found that 71 percent of registered voters said they agree to some degree that Biden is \u201cjust too old to be an effective president.\u201d 62 percent of participants said Biden did not have the \u201cmental sharpness to be an effective president.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill added: \u201cAxelrod told CNN that he\u2019s not reacting to one poll with his comments but has had conversations with people and finds 2024 a unique year considering the threat of Trump \u2014 who is leading the GOP primary race \u2014 on the other side of the aisle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill continued:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTrump is a dangerous, unhinged demagogue whose brazen disdain for the rules, [norms], laws and institutions or democracy should be disqualifying,\u201d Axelrod wrote in a separate post.<\/a> \u201cBut the stakes of miscalculation here are too dramatic to ignore.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

I would add that maybe the growing GOP impeachment inquiry into the Biden family business \u2013 \u2018influence peddling\u2019 \u2013 and the tax fraud and gun indictments against Hunter Biden, are also worrying Democrats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Echoing the growing talking points about Biden quitting while he still can,\u00a0a <\/a>separate Hill piece reported:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arguing Biden is \u201cjustly proud of his accomplishments,\u201d Axelrod said Biden\u2019s poll numbers will \u201csend tremors of doubt\u201d through the Democratic Party.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot \u2018bed-wetting,’\u201d but legitimate concern, Axelrod wrote\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOnly @JoeBiden can make this decision,\u201d he continued<\/a>. \u201cIf he continues to run, he will be the nominee of the Democratic Party. What he needs to decide is whether that is wise; whether it\u2019s in HIS best interest or the country\u2019s?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0I don’t\u00a0know about you, but I sense there is a lot of Democrat bed-wetting about Biden going around right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
