{"id":5575,"date":"2023-11-21T09:31:35","date_gmt":"2023-11-21T14:31:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/?p=5575"},"modified":"2023-11-21T09:31:36","modified_gmt":"2023-11-21T14:31:36","slug":"trump-white-house-lawyer-predicts-what-will-land-him-in-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/featured\/trump-white-house-lawyer-predicts-what-will-land-him-in-jail\/njackson\/2023\/11\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump White House Lawyer Predicts What Will Land Him In Jail"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Is Donald Trump headed to the big house?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former Trump Administration White House lawyer, \u00a0Ty Cobb\u00a0said he thinks former\u00a0President Trump\u2019s\u00a0\u201cnarcissism\u201d will ultimately land him in jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think his first or second violation of the gag order will find him sent to jail, but I think ultimately, his narcissism will get the best of him,\u201d Cobb told CNN\u2019s\u00a0Erin Burnett\u00a0on Monday. \u201cAnd he will violate it until he finds out what the limits of Judge Chutkan\u2019s patience are.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cobb served as a lawyer for the Trump administration from July 2017 until May 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The former White House attorney also predicted the court will uphold Judge\u00a0Tanya Chutkan\u2019s\u00a0limited gag order in the former president\u2019s federal election interference case. On Monday, a three-judge panel considered\u00a0Trump\u2019s attempt\u00a0to halt the gag order imposed in the case.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Burnett suggested that if Trump were to violate the gag order, he could spend a night or two in jail. Cobb said \u201cthat\u2019s exactly right.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The judges asked skeptical and aggressive questions of attorneys on both sides while they were deciding whether to put back in place the gag order,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/ap-appeals-court-to-hear-arguments-on-whether-to-reinstate-gag-order-against-donald-trump\/\">The Associated Press<\/a>&nbsp;noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe judges were frustrated with both sides a little today because of the vagaries of, you know, their interpretation of the order and the arguments that they were making,\u201d Cobb said in response. \u201cBut in the end \u2026 I think this task boils down to using that, you know, scalpel skillfully to demonstrate what target or targeting actually means and \u2026 what areas of speech are actually being circumscribed by the need to avoid undermining the integrity of the judicial process.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think that task is well within the capability of these judges and Judge Chutkan,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Is Donald Trump headed to the big house?
