{"id":5581,"date":"2023-11-21T16:37:11","date_gmt":"2023-11-21T21:37:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/?p=5581"},"modified":"2023-11-21T16:37:11","modified_gmt":"2023-11-21T21:37:11","slug":"judge-rules-against-revoking-bond-for-trump-co-defendant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/news\/judge-rules-against-revoking-bond-for-trump-co-defendant\/njackson\/2023\/11\/","title":{"rendered":"Judge Rules Against Revoking Bond For Trump Co-defendant"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Tuesday, a Georgia judge declined to revoke the bond of one of former President Trump\u2019s co-defendants in his 2020 election interference case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fulton County Judge\u00a0Scott McAfee\u00a0determined Tuesday that the bond agreement for Harrison Floyd, a former leader of Black Voices for Trump, must be updated to reflect the \u201cnuances of social media.\u201d However, McAfee said he believed that Floyd did make a \u201ctechnical violation\u201d of his bond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Floyd was the first defendant threatened with pretrial detention over social media posts that prosecutors say demonstrate attempts at intimidating future witnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/4321760-judge-declines-revoke-bond-trump-georgia-co-defendant\/\">The Hill<\/a> has more:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cI think the ultimate result of today\u2019s hearing is that it\u2019s very clear to me that this bond needs to be modified,\u201d McAfee said<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Willis\u2019s attempt to revoke Floyd\u2019s bond was filed hours later, alleging his social media posts violated his conditions of release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhat we\u2019re really here to decide today is does this order mean something or not,\u201d Willis said, asserting that Floyd \u201cspit on the court\u201d by posting about witnesses and co-defendants online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNone of these posts amounted to a threat or intimidation,\u201d said Chris Kachouroff, one of Floyd\u2019s attorneys.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This is a breaking news story.
