{"id":6106,"date":"2024-02-08T12:54:55","date_gmt":"2024-02-08T17:54:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/?p=6106"},"modified":"2024-02-08T12:54:56","modified_gmt":"2024-02-08T17:54:56","slug":"greene-files-another-ethics-complaint-against-georgia-trump-da","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/news\/greene-files-another-ethics-complaint-against-georgia-trump-da\/njackson\/2024\/02\/","title":{"rendered":"Greene Files Another Ethics Complaint Against Georgia Trump DA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Close Trump ally Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) filed an ethics complaint against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/4455046-greene-files-ethics-complaint-against-fani-willis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Hill<\/a>, the four-page ethics complaint filed with the Georgia State Ethics Commission, alleges that Willis violated the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Act by not disclosing \u201csuspicious relationships and transactions\u201d she made in relation to top prosecutor, Nathan Wade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The allegations in Greene\u2019s complaint stem from a co-defendant of former President Trump,&nbsp;Mike Roman,&nbsp;filing motions seeking to disqualify Willis from the sprawling racketeering and election interference case. Roman alleged that Willis and Wade traveled to \u201ctraditional vacation destinations\u201d together, including the Caribbean and Napa Valley. <strong>(RELATED: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/americanliberty.news\/government\/fani-willis-accused-of-hiring-lover-as-key-prosecutor-court-docs-reveal\/phouck\/2024\/01\/\">Fani Willis Accused Of Hiring Lover As Key Prosecutor, Court Docs Reveal<\/a><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Greene claimed that the roughly $700,000 Wade was paid for working on the Trump case made him an \u201cauthority of the state,&#8221; suggesting Willis should therefore have to disclose any spending between the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The issue is the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/law.justia.com\/codes\/georgia\/2022\/title-21\/chapter-5\/article-3\/section-21-5-50\/\">law she cites<\/a> only requires public officials to disclose payments for \u201cspeaking engagements, participation in seminars, discussion panels, or other activities which directly relate to the official duties of the filer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Greene\u2019s complaint also accuses Willis of \u201ccollud[ing]\u201d with White House counsel \u2014 over meetings that stemmed from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/01\/11\/us\/trump-biden-fani-willis-nathan-wade.html\">efforts to gather evidence<\/a>&nbsp;for the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, Greene called Willis\u2019 failure to disclose the trips \u201ca scandal of epic proportions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cFani Willis can\u2019t be trusted to fulfill her duties impartially. Inappropriate, unethical, and potentially illegal behavior has plagued her investigation from the outset,\u201d she wrote.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWillis\u2019 refusal to disclose her relationships and financial transactions demonstrates a blatant disregard for the law and ethical standards,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Willis, however, has fought efforts to remove her from the case, including recent efforts from Roman\u2019s team to subpoena testimony from her and Wade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, Rep.
