He says the allegations that the defendants tried to get GA officials to violate their oaths were not detailed enough. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0ewQ1TeWip\">pic.twitter.com\/0ewQ1TeWip<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Kyle Cheney (@kyledcheney) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kyledcheney\/status\/1767917838684103045?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 13, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/4528762-judge-tosses-trump-georgia-charges-election-interference-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Hill<\/a> has more:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Each of the tossed charges related to alleged efforts by Trump and some of his co-defendants, including former New York City mayor&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/rudy-giuliani\/\">Rudy Giuliani&nbsp;<\/a>and White House Chief of Staff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/mark-meadows\/\">Mark Meadows,<\/a>&nbsp;to solicit Georgia officials to violate their oaths of office.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The judge ruled that while the charges do contain the \u201cessential\u201d elements of each crime, they fail to provide enough detail for the defendants to mount their defenses. Under the current charges, McAfee said, the defendants could have violated the law in \u201cdozens, if not hundreds, of distinct ways.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Court\u2019s concern is less that the State has failed to allege sufficient conduct of the Defendants \u2013 in fact it has alleged an abundance,\u201d&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/24478994-23sc188947-20240313-trump-order-on-defendants-special-demurrers90\" target=\"_blank\">McAfee wrote<\/a>. \u201cHowever, the lack of detail concerning an essential legal element is, in the undersigned\u2019s opinion, fatal.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McAfee made clear that his ruling \u201cdoes not mean the entire indictment is dismissed,\u201d and said the Fulton County district attorney\u2019s office could seek reindictment after supplementing the charges he deemed insufficient.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This is a breaking news story.
