On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump said that he’s eliminated some potential picks for vice president from his list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During an interview with Trump on his show\u00a0Greg Kelly Reports<\/em>, Newsmax host\u00a0Greg Kelly\u00a0questioned, \u201cVice president. Are you any closer? Have you ruled anybody out?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trump replied:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yeah, I probably have a couple of people that you may know very well. Some people that I didn\u2019t think behaved properly. Yeah, I think I\u2019ve ruled some people out, but I\u2019ve ruled a lot of people in. We have a lot of great people in the Republican Party, and they\u2019ll do a terrific job, I think, but certainly I have people that I wouldn\u2019t want as a vice president.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n While Trump did not elaborate on who exactly had been ruled out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Last month, Trump confirmed a short list of names he is considering asking to become his running mate in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The list included three former GOP candidates, Sen.\u00a0Tim Scott\u00a0(R-S.C.), entrepreneur\u00a0Vivek Ramaswamy\u00a0and Gov.\u00a0Ron DeSantis\u00a0(R-Fla.). He also confirmed that Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), Gov.\u00a0Kristi Noem\u00a0(R-S.D.) and former Hawaii Rep.\u00a0Tulsi Gabbard,\u00a0who served in Congress as a Democrat but has since shifted to more conservative views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After Kelly asked Trump whether a \u201cformal process\u201d was currently underway, Trump said, \u201cNo, it\u2019s a formal process that\u2019s in my brain. It\u2019s like I look at the same people that everybody else is looking at.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n He continued:<\/p>\n\n\n\n We\u2019ve had some really great people. I think we have really great people that want it. People have expressed, I mean not their interest, they\u2019ve expressed like, \u201cI would love to be vice president.\u201d Who wouldn\u2019t? If you\u2019re a politician, who wouldn\u2019t want it? But you know, I get a kick out of watching the fake news media say, \u201cNobody wants to work with him. Nobody wants to be vice president. Nobody wants to be secretary of state.\u201d Everybody wants to be in these positions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n \u201cThere\u2019s not a person in politics that doesn\u2019t want it, and that includes Democrats. If I wanted, I\u2019d have a Democrat, I\u2019d have a liberal, I\u2019d have anybody I want.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trump concluded, \u201cReally, if you want to stay within a certain boundary, the press covers the people that are being thought about. It\u2019s unusual that you\u2019d pick somebody totally out of that, and there are 15 people they talk about, and that list grows every day.
