{"id":6494,"date":"2024-04-01T11:21:34","date_gmt":"2024-04-01T15:21:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/?p=6494"},"modified":"2024-04-01T11:21:38","modified_gmt":"2024-04-01T15:21:38","slug":"report-trumps-truth-social-lost-58-million-in-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/featured\/report-trumps-truth-social-lost-58-million-in-2023\/njackson\/2024\/04\/","title":{"rendered":"Report: Trump\u2019s Truth Social Lost $58 Million in 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Trump might be banking on his now-public company becoming his cash cow but financial filings are showing a concerning big picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, the parent company of Trump&#8217;s Truth Social media company went public as the likely Republican nominee seeks to pay off numerous legal bills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/news\/new-trumps-truth-social-lost-58-million-in-2023-despite-multi-billion-dollar-valuation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mediaite<\/a> has more:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Trump holds upwards of 78 million shares in the firm, officially dubbed Trump Media &amp; Technology Group, that are now worth billions of dollars after the initial round of sales of company stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/04\/01\/trump-truth-social-revenue-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according<\/a>&nbsp;to the company\u2019s SEC filings, the fundamentals do not come remotely close to justifying the stock price. In fact, it brough in just $4.1 million in revenue in 2023 and suffered a net loss of over $58 million. A majority of those losses are attributable to its debt, although its operating costs were still approximately four times higher than its revenue stream.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Trump is not allowed to sell his shares for six months, and some analysts have predicted that a Trump-led sell-off will trigger a major dip in stocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former New York Assistant Attorney General&nbsp;Adam Pollock&nbsp;has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/trump\/truth-social-is-essentially-worthless-msnbc-analyst-says-shares-would-go-to-zero-if-trump-tried-to-sell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">argued<\/a>&nbsp;that the company is \u201cessentially worthless\u201d and Fox Business host&nbsp;Stuart Varney&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/politics\/fox-business-host-warns-trumps-meme-stock-will-tank-if-biden-is-re-elected\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">predicted<\/a>&nbsp;that the stock would crash if it looks like Trump is going to lose his bid to retake the White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s almost like a meme stock, and that\u2019s the way it\u2019ll play out,\u201d said Varney. \u201cIt\u2019s a bet on whether Trump wins or loses in November of this year. If he loses, I think the stock goes way down.
