Former President Donald Trump plans to sue the Department of Justice (DOJ) for $100 million, claiming the FBI\u2019s 2022 raid on his Mar-a-Lago estate was a blatant act of \u201cpolitical persecution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the infamous raid, federal agents discovered over 100 classified records as they executed a search warrant at Trump\u2019s Palm Beach property. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump denied the 40 criminal counts related to his handling of the documents. Special Counsel Jack Smith claims he actively obstructed the government\u2019s attempts to retrieve the materials, including those related to nuclear secrets and national defense capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s legal team argues the raid was executed with \u201cclear intent to engage in political persecution,\u201d according to a memo obtained by Fox News reporter Brooke Singman.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lawsuit, led by Trump attorney Daniel Epstein, alleges that the DOJ\u2019s actions constituted \u201ctortious conduct\u201d against the former president, citing \u201cintrusion upon seclusion, malicious prosecution, and abuse of process.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Epstein argues that the decisions made by Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray were \u201cinconsistent with protocols\u201d and driven by an agenda to \u201cinjure President Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Epstein\u2019s filing also argues: \u201cThe FBI\u2019s conduct in the raid\u2026 constitutes a severe and unacceptable intrusion that is highly offensive to a reasonable person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Epstein further claims that the raid and subsequent indictment were part of a broader scheme to interfere with Trump\u2019s political ambitions, describing it as \u201cvery accurate and precise election interference.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
