\u201cIf there is a job that could help the country and that my skillset would be useful for. Anybody should consider that,\u201d Phillips told NewsNation\u2019s \u201cOn Balance.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd if we come to a point where no Democrat will want to serve in a Republican administration, and conversely, we are limiting 50 percent of the universe of potential appointees and that\u2019s what I am trying to overcome,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Phillips, mounted a\u00a0long shot bid\u00a0against\u00a0President Biden\u00a0before\u00a0dropping\u00a0out in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Minnesota Democrat consistently\u00a0warned his party about not having a competitive primary process and urged both parties to try to better understand the needs of the American people.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Phillips\u00a0said\u00a0last week that Trump has \u201cbecome a significant historical figure in American politics\u201d and that he built a movement \u201cthat, frankly, snuck up on most Democrats.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am not a big fan of the President himself, but I understand the MAGA movement,\u201d Phillips said Thursday. \u201cI understand why people are angry. I understand why this federal government needs to be reformed. But then do it with people with competency and integrity to do it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
