Trump for Jan. 10 after a jury found the now-president-elect guilty of falsifying business records in the first degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read the full petition:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div data-wp-interactive=\"core\/file\" class=\"wp-block-file\"><object data-wp-bind--hidden=\"!state.hasPdfPreview\" hidden class=\"wp-block-file__embed\" data=\"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/scotus-trump-filing.pdf\" type=\"application\/pdf\" style=\"width:100%;height:600px\" aria-label=\"Embed of scotus-trump-filing.\"><\/object><a id=\"wp-block-file--media-4a304707-70bb-440b-ae9a-475f01d155d0\" href=\"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/scotus-trump-filing.pdf\">scotus-trump-filing<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/greatamericanewsdesk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/scotus-trump-filing.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button wp-element-button\" download aria-describedby=\"wp-block-file--media-4a304707-70bb-440b-ae9a-475f01d155d0\">Download<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;President Trump\u2019s legal team filed an emergency petition with the United States Supreme Court, asking the Court to correct the unjust actions by New York courts and stop the unlawful sentencing in the Manhattan D.A.\u2019s Witch Hunt,&#8221; Trump spokesman and incoming White House communications director Steven Cheung <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-files-emergency-petition-supreme-court-prevent-sentencing-ny-v-trump\">told<\/a> Fox News Digital.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;The Supreme Court\u2019s historic decision on Immunity, the Constitution, and established legal precedent mandate that this meritless hoax be immediately dismissed.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cheung said the &#8220;American People elected President Trump with an overwhelming mandate that demands an immediate end to the political weaponization of our justice system and all of the remaining Witch Hunts.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added, &#8220;We look forward to uniting our country in the new administration as President Trump makes America great again.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The filing to the United States Supreme Court comes after a judge in New York on Tuesday denied Trump&#8217;s motion to stay the Jan. 10 sentencing, which is currently set for Friday, Jan. 10 at 9:30 a.m. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Merchan set the sentencing date last week but said he will not sentence the president-elect to prison.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Merchan wrote in his decision that he is not likely to &#8220;impose any sentence of incarceration,&#8221; but rather a sentence of an &#8220;unconditional discharge,&#8221; which means there would be no punishment imposed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President-elect Donald Trump filed an emergency petition to the United States Supreme Court Wednesday morning in an effort to block his impending sentencing in New York v.
