A Republican Senator says President Trump deserves to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in de-escalating the conflict between Israel and Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Appearing on Hannity<\/em> Monday night, Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) guaranteed that the Nobel is going to Trump following his announcement of a ceasefire deal between Israel and Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cPresident Trump is going to win the Nobel Peace Prize, no doubt!\u201d Britt said. \u201cYou look at what he\u2019s done with the Congo and Rwanda. You look where he is with Pakistan and India and what he has done there. And then you look at this \u2014 what everyone talked about but no one thought was possible. He has brought peace to a region that needed stability. He has shown what America first policy actually is.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Earlier in the show, Britt\u2019s GOP colleague, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) likewise praised Trump \u2014 but also allowed for the possibility that the agreement could collapse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIf the ceasefire is genuine and will lead to peace, it is a major league accomplishment,\u201d Graham said. \u201cIf the ceasefire is used to rearm and regroup by Iran, we\u2019ve gone backwards.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Britt, though, saw no need to hedge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe need a president who is unafraid to act and that stands firmly with the American citizens,\u201d Britt said. \u201cThat\u2019s what we saw today. And look, Democrats don\u2019t know what to say. I mean, their silence has never been louder, if you know what I mean. And I think it\u2019s because President Trump just keeps winning! And they don\u2019t what to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.) wrote to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, declaring Trump had an “extraordinary and historic role” in having ended “the armed conflict between Israel and Iran and preventing the world\u2019s largest state sponsor of terrorism from obtaining the most lethal weapon on the planet.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “President Trump’s influence was instrumental in forging a swift agreement that many believed to be impossible. President Trump also took bold, decisive actions to halt Iran\u2019s nuclear ambitions and ensure that the world\u2019s largest state sponsor of terrorism remains incapable of acquiring a nuclear weapon,” Carter wrote in his letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said Trump’s leadership through the crisis “exemplifies the very ideals that the Nobel Peace Prize seeks to recognize: the pursuit of peace, the prevention of war, and the advancement of international harmony.
