President Donald Trump announced Friday that Stephen Miller will replace Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff, putting one of his most trusted advisers in the top West Wing job.
Miller, currently deputy chief of staff, will assume the role Monday, November 9, according to a statement from Trump shared by the White House’s Rapid Response 47 account on X.
Trump described Miller as “one of my most trusted advisors” and said Wiles would move to the Trump political operation.
The president praised his departing chief of staff, saying she had done an outstanding job.
“I want to thank her for her service as Chief of Staff — She has done a great job!” Trump said.
The announcement did not specify Wiles’ new title or responsibilities within the political operation, or name a replacement for Miller as deputy chief of staff.
This is a developing story.
