Following the disappointing results in Georgia’s Senate runoff election, the state’s Lieutenant Governor is voicing what he thinks happened.
Geoff Duncan, Georgia’s No. 2 Republican official, told CBS that Herschel Walker “will go down in history as probably one of the worst candidates in our party’s history” and said Republicans should unequivocally blame Donald Trump for the GOP’s disappointing midterm results.
“The only way to explain this is candidate quality,” Duncan added, alluding to Walker’s numerous controversies, including, but not limited to, claims he paid and pressured two women to have abortions despite running on a strict no-abortion platform and lied about his education, ties to law enforcement, and family.
Duncan said Warnock’s victory in a once-red state should serve as a wake-up call for Republicans and force the GOP to face some hard truths about the former president and his pull among the electorate.
“If we don’t take our medicine here, it’s our fault. … Every Republican in this country ought to hold Donald Trump accountable for this,” he said.
Walker’s defeat hands Democrats an outright majority in the upper chamber of Congress, 51-49.
Not so. Mitch McConnel is to blame.
That turd needs to be wiped off and flushed away–forever.
Lt gov is an idiot….Walkers loss falls totally o his GOP party leaderships’s refusal to keep the money train going at crunch time for Walker..they sabotaged Walkers campaign just before the election by pulling his financing..They chose not to damage their standing with the old school GOP’s asskissing of the dems. time to dump them.
THE BLAME GOES TO ELECTION FRAUD. IS TIME TO DO AWAY WITH MAIL-IN VOTING THAT’S HOW THE DEMOCRATS CHEAT, LOOK WHAT HAPPENED IN ARIZONA AND PENNSYLVANIA. MAIL-IN VOTING SHOULD BE ALLOWED ONLY FOR ARMED FORCES PERSONNEL OVERSEAS AND PEOPLE BED RIDDEN IN HOSPITALS AND NURSING HOMES. AND IN GEORGIA IS ABOUT TIME THE PEOPLE VOTE OUT KEMPT, THE LT.GOV. AND THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL. THEY ARE RHINOS WORKING FOR THE ESTABLISMENT.
100% with you John. But the Republicans need to adapt until they’re back in control, they can change anything until they do. Also need to get rid of the RINO’s.
Thank God some one else that states facts not fiction. Any day now I expect Trump to be blamed for the Roman Empire. Trump proved that you need a business head to run the country and career politicians will never forgive him for showing us the truth.
I agree. What a fool Duncan is. He clearly is influenced by the GOP ‘elite’ (at least they think they are elite). He doesn’t speak for America.
Kemp and Duncan can blame themselves. Because they were in a pissing match with President Trump, they didn’t push for Hershel in the general election November8th.
If they did their job, there wouldn’t have been a run-off and Hershel would be a US Senator.
Instead, Georgia has had a racist, antisemitic, race-bating liberal jerk for 6 years.
Accept some of the blame for yourself.
If
The Republican’s lost for only one reason they passed abortion laws that women did not want.
It was an incredibly poor time to adjudicate the issue of abortion even though it decision should have always been with the states. The truth is the decision had nothing to do with the candidates and there were far more important issues than your stand on abortion. But alas Vernon is right it caused a lot of losses for GOP.
Stop relating abortion as a must. If women are using abortion for birth control that is a disgrace. I don’t disagree if the abortion is for health reasons but I definitely do not agree with late term abortion for any reason.
GOP Losses due to:
Lack Unity
No Vision
Not using the FL election model
Not adopting Dem election model
NO early voting
Trump comments
DC RNC Estd
RINOs
I agree with Pat, John, Wayne, Sarah and Iris above. The people with the most blame are RINOS, especially Mitch McConnell. Why should we support our GOP candidates when the Leaders won’t? They showed their real selves. They care MORE about their own power more than the American people.
And Mitt Romney should go hide in a cave and not come out. What a loser for the Republican party!
..Lets start with the election itself. I will assume all the votes were counted properly. It still was not a fair election. Letting some counties have early voting and Saturday was not fair Some of the counties did not have early voting . For instance the county in which my son-in-law and daughter live did not have early voting .My son in law did not get to vote because of the season and his job . He is not allowed to take a day off this time of year . So how many people did not get to vote in the run off. It should be either all counties or no counties The Lieutenant Governor should look at himself and the GA house and senate and take some of the blame for not giving us fair and unbased elections. we as citizens deserve a fair election
