On Friday, the Republican National Committee (RNC) elected Michael Whatley and Lara Trump as its new chair and co-chair.

Speaking to RNC members, Whatley vowed that the organization “will be focused like a laser on getting out the vote and protecting the ballot.”

“In less than eight months, we are going to determine the fate of not only the United States but of the entire world,” he said. “And this body, the RNC, is going to be the vanguard of a movement that will work tirelessly, every single day to elect our nominee Donald J. Trump as the 47th president of the United States, flip the Senate, expand our majority in the House of Representatives.”

Whatley previously served as chair of the North Carolina GOP and RNC general counsel.

Lara Trump will serve as co-chair and will have a major focus on fundraising.

Speaking to RNC committee members on Friday, Lara said the RNC had already received a check for $100,000 and pointed to the importance of fundraising and encouraging early voting, something that the GOP has at times struggled to rally around.

“We’ve got to play the game a little bit differently. We have to encourage people to do things like early voting,” she said.

Former President Donald Trump has posted a $91.6 million bond in the E. Jean Carroll defamation case.

Despite his appeal, Trump had to post the money which he can get back if he wins the case in appeals court.

The Hill reports:

Trump had aimed to delay posting the bond or reduce the amount as he seeks a new trial and otherwise continues fighting the recent verdict.

But after U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan rejected Trump’s latest request to delay a Monday deadline, the former president on Friday formally filed his appeal and posted the full $91.63 million bond.

“President Trump respectfully requests that this Court recognize the supersedeas bond obtained by President Trump in the sum of $91,630,000.00 and approve it as adequate and sufficient to stay the enforcement of the Judgment, to the extent that the Judgment awards damages, pending the ultimate disposition of President Trump’s appeal,” Trump attorney Alina Habba wrote in court filings.

George Santos Announces Primary Challenge

1

Ex-Congressman George Santos (R-Ny.) is reportedly planning a political comeback.

Less than a year after being expelled from Congress, Santos says he plans to mount a primary challenge against Nick LaLota (R).

During his visit to the Capitol for President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address, Santos announced on Twitter, that he would challenge LaLota of New York’s 1st Congressional District, on Long Island.

“Tonight, I want to announce that I will be returning to the arena of politics and challenging Nick [LaLota] for the battle over #NY1,” Santos wrote on Twitter during Biden’s address. “I look forward to debating him on the issues and on his weak record as a Republican. The fight for our majority is imperative for the survival of the country.”

“New York hasn’t had a real conservative represent them since I left office arbitrarily, thanks to RINO, empty suits like @nicklalota. He is willing to risk the future of our majority and the future of this country for his own political gain,” Santos wrote.

“God bless you all, and we are off to the races!” Santos concluded.

“To raise the standard in Congress, and to hold a pathological liar who stole an election accountable, I led the charge to expel George Santos. If finishing the job requires beating him in a primary, count me in,” LaLota told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Santos was expelled from the House of Representatives on Dec. 1 after being indicted on multiple felony counts related to alleged campaign finance crimes, following which the House Select Committee on Ethics produced a report corroborating the indictment’s allegations.

‘Trump! Trump! Trump!’ New York Attorney General Gets Booed During Ceremony

    That’s embarrassing…

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) did not receive the warmest of welcomes from firefighters during a recent ceremony…

In videos circulating online, booing erupted as James walked up to the podium to honor the swearing-in of the first African-American woman chaplain of the FDNY, the Rev. Pamela Holmes as well as other first responders.

“Oh c’mon, we’re in a house of God. Simmer down,” James told the rowdy crowd. “Thank you for getting it out of your system.”

Despite the crowd’s jeers, James pressed away with her remarks, paying homage to first responders, but some in the crowd continued booing.

Then the crowd began to repeatedly chant, “Trump!” Later in her speech, James said she prayed even for those firefighters in the audience booing her.

According to Fox News, Chief of Department John Hodgens later harshly criticized the behavior of the firefighters.

“Today’s ceremony was about one thing: the accomplishments of the members being promoted,” he said. “The members whose behavior distracted from that celebration were an embarrassment and not befitting of the world’s best fire department.”

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) sued Trump in 2022, alleging he falsely altered his net worth on key financial statements to receive tax and insurance benefits. The documents, which detailed the value of the Trump Organization’s various assets, were sent to banks and insurers to secure loans and deals, which the state purports is evidence of fraud.

The former president faces more than 90 criminal charges in four prosecutions.

    Glenn Youngkin Finally Endorses Trump

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin (R) has finally made an endorsement in the 2025 presidential race.

Youngkin’s endorsement comes after former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley dropped out of the race earlier in the day, leading the Republican National Committee to declare that Trump was the party’s presumptive nominee.

“Voters in the Commonwealth and across the country have spoken loudly for President Donald J. Trump and I endorse him for President of the United States,” Youngkin said in a statement. “His record on border security, restoring American leadership around the world, reducing taxes and lowering the cost of living for all Americans stands in stark contrast to the open borders, failed leadership on the global stage, rampant inflation and higher costs of today.”

“It’s time to unite around strong leadership and policies that grow our great nation, not four more years of President Biden,” Youngkin added.

Trump came close to officially clinching the nomination as he now stands at well over 1,000 delegates and he needs less than 200 to hit the 1,215 threshold to officially win. In Virginia, Trump beat Haley by 28 points.

Nikki Haley has yet to endorse Trump for the nomination.

Charles Barkley’s Threats To Punch Trump Supporters Forces CNN Into Damage Control Mode

CNN anchor Gayle King was forced to initiate damage control mode after her co-host and NBA legend Charles Barkley made a faux pas.

Mediaite’s Charlie Nash noted that the dust-up began on Saturday’s edition of “King Charles” when King played a clip of Donald Trump boasting about Black people wearing Trump mugshot t-shirts. “When you heard that, what did you think?,” she asked the hall of famer:

Barkley let out a big sigh, before replying, “First of all, I’m just going to say this, if I see a Black person walking around with Trump mugshot I’m gonna punch him in the face.”

“Charles. Charles, you really can’t say that ’cause, A. you don’t mean that,” King quickly interjected.

“Oh, I mean that sincerely,” the Round Mound of Rebound fired back.

“And then you will be arrested for assault, and then what?” King asked, reminiscent of a bewildered parent.

“I’m gonna bail myself out and go celebrate,” Barkley replied.

After the audience laughed, King told them not to encourage her co-host.

Barkley later clarified that if he were present for Trump’s comments, he would have left.

“That was an insult to all Black people,” he said. “To compare Black history, where we’ve been discriminated against, to his plight– Well, first of all, he’s a billionaire, and they are prosecuting him for stuff he did wrong.”

King noted, “It’s still in the court system, Charles; we have to wait.”

“Well, some of the stuff is true,” Barkley concluded. “They did storm the Capitol. They did say that the election was stolen.”

On Wednesday, a former congressional candidate and WWE wrestler turned himself into authorities after an arrest warrant for open murder was issued for him.

Dan Rodimer, 45, was identified Wednesday as the suspect in an alleged altercation that turned deadly inside a Las Vegas resort room in October, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Fox News reported that the man inside the room, later identified as 47-year-old Christopher Tapp, was taken to the hospital with “injuries as a result of a purported accident,” police said at the time.

Tapp died at Sunrise Hospital on Nov. 5, FOX 5 Las Vegas reported, and on Nov. 22, police began investigating his death as suspicious after learning he had been involved in an altercation.

David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, Rodimer’s lawyers, gave the following statement to FOX 5 on Wednesday evening:

“Mr. Rodimer is voluntarily surrendering to authorities and will post a court ordered bail,” it read. “He intends on vigorously contesting the allegations and asks that the presumption of innocence guaranteed all Americans be respected.”

He posted his $200,000 bail Wednesday night and has a hearing set for Thursday morning, local outlets reported.

Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips (D) has suspended his long-shot campaign for the White House.

He said that “it is clear that alternative is not me” in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“I ran for Congress in 2018 to resist Donald Trump, I was trapped in the Capitol in 2021 because of Donald Trump, and I ran for President in 2024 to resist Donald Trump again – because Americans were demanding an alternative, and democracy demands options,” Phillips wrote on X. “But it is clear that alternative is not me. And it is clear that Joe Biden is OUR candidate and OUR opportunity to demonstrate what type of country America is and intends to be.”

“I ask you join me in mobilizing, energizing, and doing everything you can to help keep a man of decency and integrity in the White House. That’s Joe Biden,” he said.

“And it is clear that Joe Biden is OUR candidate and OUR opportunity to demonstrate what type of country America is and intends to be,” he wrote.

Phillips, who mounted a late White House bid in October, was running as an alternative to the embattled frontrunner

      Mitch McConnell Endorses Donald Trump

      2

On Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) officially endorsed Donald Trump for President.

McConnell unveiled the endorsement only after former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R), Trump’s final remaining opponent, dropped out of the race following Trump’s big wins on Super Tuesday.

“It is abundantly clear that former President Trump has earned the requisite support of Republican voters to be our nominee for President of the United States. It should come as no surprise that as nominee, he will have my support,” McConnell said.

“During his Presidency, we worked together to accomplish great things for the American people including tax reform that supercharged our economy and a generational change of our federal judiciary – most importantly, the Supreme Court. I look forward to the opportunity of switching from playing defense against the terrible policies the Biden administration has pursued to a sustained offense geared towards making a real difference in improving the lives of the American people.”

Despite Haley dropping out of the race, the former United Nations ambassador has yet to endorse Trump for President.

      Nikki Haley Suspends Campaign

Following Super Tuesday’s disappointing results for Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina Governor has suspended her campaign.

“I am filled with the gratitude for the outpouring of support we’ve received from all across our great country,” Haley said. “But the time has now come just suspend my campaign.”

In brief remarks to a crowd of supporters, Haley did not endorse Trump but called on the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee to earn votes from those who did not back him in the Republican primary.

“It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him,” Haley said. “And I hope he does that. At its best, politics is about bringing people into your cause, not turning them away.”

Trump kicked Haley on her way out of the primary in a post on Truth Social shortly after her remarks began.

“Nikki Haley got TROUNCED last night, in record setting fashion, despite the fact that Democrats, for reasons unknown, are allowed to vote in Vermont, and various other Republican Primaries. Much of her money came from Radical Left Democrats, as did many of her voters, almost 50%, according to the polls,” Trump wrote.

“At this point, I hope she stays in the ‘race’ and fights it out until the end! I’d like to thank my family, friends, and the Great Republican Party for helping me to produce, by far, the most successful Super Tuesday in HISTORY, and would further like to invite all of the Haley supporters to join the greatest movement in the history of our Nation. BIDEN IS THE ENEMY, HE IS DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
