Liberal Comedian Goes Off The Rails Over Recent Trump Gains

9

On Tuesday, Actor John Leguizamo lost his cool over recent reports showing more Latino voters trending toward Donald Trump.

After he mocked an ad from the Trump campaign targeting Latino voters, “The Daily Show” guest host expressed dismay over polls showing he was gaining ground with Latinos.

“I mean, clearly, Trump isn’t making any effort to get Latino voters or make them a priority,” Leguizamo scoffed. “But the thing that hurts the most is that his lazy a– strategy is actually working.”

The comedy show played a news clip reading the results of a poll earlier this year which put Trump ahead of Biden by six points with Latino voters. Leguizamo reacted by grabbing a piñata from under his desk and punching it.

The comedian let out a string of curse words in Spanish aimed at Trump while attacking the piñata. After regaining his composure, Leguizamo warned Democrats were in trouble because Latino voters trusted Trump over Biden to handle their number one concern: inflation.

“It looks like the Democrats are in trouble. And you might be thinking, how is this possible? Donald Trump is winning Latinos? ‘Build the wall’ Donald Trump? ‘Mass deportations’ Donald Trump? Guy who thinks Daddy Yankee is a baseball player, Donald Trump? But the truth is, in 2024, Latino voters have something else on their minds,” he said.

“That’s right. For Latinos, this election is all about inflation! And that makes sense! Inflation is bad right now,” he said before claiming that Trump had no solutions to solve the crisis.

Judge Impedes Trump Plans To Attend Son’s Graduation

It is unlikely that Donald Trump will be able to attend a milestone event in his youngest child’s life.

Indeed, according to the 45th president, it is all but guaranteed that he will not attend his son Barron’s high school graduation next month.

Obviously, the president’s absence won’t be out of neglect or emotional abuse but a consequence of the limitations imposed by Judge Juan Merchan in his hush money trial.

In a recent social media post, Trump’s frustration was palpable.

“Who will explain for me, to my wonderful son, Barron, who is a GREAT Student at a fantastic School, that his Dad will likely not be allowed to attend his Graduation Ceremony, something that we have been talking about for years, because a seriously Conflicted and Corrupt New York State Judge wants me in Criminal Court on a bogus ‘Biden Case’ which, according to virtually all Legal Scholars and Pundits, has no merit, and should NEVER have been brought,” Trump fumed on Truth Social.

The post continued, claiming: “This Fake Case is solely meant to attack Crooked Joe Biden‘s Political Opponent, ME, who is seriously leading him in the Polls, for purposes of Election Interference. The Judge, Juan Merchan, is preventing me from proudly attending my son’s Graduation. Seems very unfair, doesn’t it? But this whole event is unfair. Every one of the many Fake Cases that are perpetuated by the White House in order to help the Worst President in History, by far, get Re-Elected, are UNJUST SCAMS. We won’t let that happen, but we will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump further criticized Merchan for denying his request to attend the presidential immunity hearing before the Supreme Court on April 25.

    As Breitbart reports:

The hush money case involves whether Trump committed a felony when marking payments to his then-lawyer Michael Cohen legal expenses when New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg argues they should have been marked as campaign-related expenses because the payments included “hush money” payments meant to keep adult actor Stormy Daniels quiet before the 2016 election. Legal experts have pointed out that Bragg’s argument is a novel one that faces skepticism.

Bragg has brought state charges under Section 175 for falsifying business records, based on the claim that Trump concealed the payments as “legal expenses.” A Section 175 charge would normally be a misdemeanor, but Bragg is trying to convert it into a felony by showing that the “intent to defraud includes an intent to commit another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof.” The crime would be federal election violations, which the Justice Department previously declined to charge. However, much will depend on whether Bragg can make that case to jurors in Manhattan, which is overwhelmingly Democrat.

Barron is set to graduate from Oxbridge Academy, a private school located in Palm Beach, Florida, on May 17.

His plans for college have not been disclosed.

Romney To Align With Dems To Quash Impeachment – But There’s A Catch

Republican Sen. Mitt Romney (Utah) is poised to betray the Republican Party yet again.

The Anti-Trump Senator told Axios that he would be willing to dismiss articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. However, Romney included one stipulation for this vote, there must be a debate.

In the report by Stef W. Kight and Stephen Neukam, Romney indicated that he could vote with his Democrat colleagues in the Senate to end the historic impeachment by House Republicans. However, while he was skeptical about whether the allegations rose to a constitutional standard, Romney did insist that there should be a debate, even a brief one, to address the charges:

I don’t believe there’s a constitutional standard met. But at the same time, I think the Senate should give a chance for debate, even if it’s limited to two hours.

    He added:

So if there’s a motion just to table without any discussion, that’s something I would oppose. If there’s a provision that allows debate, it’s something I’d be open to.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has publicly opposed the politically-motivated impeachment, but has not made clear what he plans to do. It takes a two-thirds majority to convict someone who has been impeached, and in the Democratic-led Senate, such a vote is highly unlikely.

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s media company announced the launch of a new video streaming platform this week.

The Daily Caller reported that Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the parent company of social media platform Truth Social, went public after shareholders approved a merger with Digital World of Acquisition Corporation (DWAC) in March. Trump’s media company detailed its plans to roll out its “new live TV streaming platform” in an email announcement.

“Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. (NASDAQ:DJT) (‘TMTG’ or the ‘Company’), operator of the social media platform Truth Social, announced today that after six months of testing on its Web and iOS platforms, the Company has finished the research and development phase of its new live TV streaming platform and will begin scaling up its own content delivery network (‘CDN’),” the announcement reads.

    The Daily Caller has more:

Trump’s streaming platform will be introduced in three phases, the announcement states. First, it will appear on the Truth Social app. Next, the streaming app will become available separately for download on phones, tablets and additional devices. Phase three of its rollout will encompass Trump’s streaming platform becoming available for download as an app on TVs.

Trump’s streaming service will host content “that has been cancelled, is at risk of cancellation, or is being suppressed on other platforms and services,” the announcement reads. Genres of content include “news networks, religious channels, [and] family-friendly content including films and documentaries.”

New York Judge Issues Response To Trump’s SCOTUS Request

On Monday, the New York judger presiding over Donald Trump’s hush money trial said the former president is not permitted to attend arguments on presidential immunity at the Supreme Court next week.

The attempts by Trump to take off certain days of his hush money trial which is expected to last weeks, if not months, came as the first day of trial was officially underway in Manhattan.

The decision to not allow Trump to be in Washington, D.C., on April 25, when the Supreme Court is set to hear oral arguments on a presidential immunity claim Trump is making in his federal criminal case, came just before the New York trial adjourned Monday.

    The Hill has more:

“Arguing before the Supreme Court is a big deal, and I can certainly appreciate why your client would want to be there, but a trial in New York Supreme Court … is also a big deal,” Judge Juan Merchan said to Trump lawyer Todd Blanche, rejecting his request to let the former president play hooky.

“I will see him here next week,” the judge added.

Under New York state law, Trump is required to attend the entirety of his trial unless he gets special permission from the judge to skip.

After court adjourned for the day, Trump suggested Merchan believes he is “superior” to the Supreme Court for preventing him from attending the high court’s oral arguments.

Merchan earlier delayed a decision on allowing Trump to attend his son Barron’s high school graduation in May.

RFK Jr. Claims He Rejected Trump VP Offer

Third-party White House contender Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Monday he turned down Donald Trump’s offer to be his running mate.

“President Trump calls me an ultra-left radical. I’m soooo liberal that his emissaries asked me to be his VP. I respectfully declined the offer,” Kennedy wrote on the social platform X. “I am against President Trump, and President Biden can’t win. Judging by his new website, it looks like President Trump knows who actually can beat him.”

A top Trump aide on Monday disputed that Kennedy was approached for the role.

“Re-upping this from January … was true then and it’s true now,” Chris LaCivita wrote on X, calling Kennedy “a leftie loonie that would never be approached to be on the ticket..sorry!”

RFK Jr. made the far-out claim after a PAC supporting the Trump campaign unveiled a new website attacking Kennedy.

That website, owned and operated by Make America Great Again, Inc., which can be found at https://www.radicalf-ingkennedy.com, calls Kennedy a “radical f***ing Kennedy” and knocks him for supporting high taxes, the Green New Deal, a ban on assault weapons and more.

Report: Prosecutors Allege Trump Violated Gag Order

Prosecutors in the hush money case against Donald Trump are asking the judge presiding over the case to fine the former President for violating his gag order.

    The Hill has more:

Assistant District Attorney Chris Conroy said the former president in three recent Truth Social posts violated a gag order imposed by Judge Juan Merchan barring him from attacking witnesses, prosecutors, court staff and the judge’s family.

Conroy asked that Trump be fined $1,000 for each post and be reminded he can be jailed if he continues violating the gag order. The judge has not yet ruled.

“The defendant is aware of the April 1 order. We know that from various posts he had made,” Conroy said.

Trump attorney Todd Blanche insisted the posts in question don’t violate the gag order, however.

“He is responding to salacious, repeated, vehement attacks by these witnesses,” Blanche said.

Nikki Haley Lands New Gig After Failed Trump Challenge

Donald Trump’s last Republican rival has landed a fresh new job.

Nikki Haley the former two-term South Carolina governor who served as ambassador to the United Nations in the Trump administration, is joining the Washington, D.C.-based Hudson Institute.

“Nikki is a proven, effective leader on both foreign and domestic policy,” Hudson President and CEO John P. Walters said in a statement Monday. “In an era of worldwide political upheaval, she has remained a steadfast defender of freedom and an effective advocate for American security and prosperity. We are honored to have her join the Hudson team.”

    Fox News has more:

Haley, who received the Hudson Institute’s global leadership award in 2018 during her tenure as U.N. ambassador, will serve as the institute’s Walter P. Stern Chair. According to the Hudson Institute, the position was created four years ago to commemorate a former chair “who was instrumental in making Hudson one of Washington’s most respected research organizations.”

The institute emphasized that “it is fitting that Nikki has taken on this title” because “she is a courageous and insightful policymaker.”

Haley announced that she was suspending her White House campaign on March 6, the day Trump swept 14 of 15 GOP nominating contests on Super Tuesday.

To date, Haley has declined to endorse Trump.

“It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him. And I hope he does that,” Haley said last month, as she pointed to those who supported her during her White House run.

“This is now his time for choosing,” she emphasized.

Trump Speaks Out Ahead Of Hush Money Trial Kickoff

      2

Former President Donald Trump made history on Monday as the first former or current U.S. president to ever face a criminal trial in a case that also made him the first former chief executive to be criminally indicted.

Monday marked the start of Trump’s first criminal trial in a matter involving a hush money payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels just before the 2016 election.

Monday’s trial begins with jury selection in which hundreds of New Yorkers must be whittled down to 12 people and six alternates. That process is expected to last at least several days before opening arguments begin and star witnesses take the stand.

Around 9:30 am Trump entered the Manhattan courtroom flanked by his defense team, including Todd Blanche and Susan Necheles.

Trump spoke briefly before entering the courtroom, calling the case an “assault on America” and a “political persecution.”

“It’s an assault on America. And that’s why I’m very proud to be here,” Trump said as his remarks were carried live across major broadcast networks.

Trump is also charged in three other criminal indictments: one in Georgia over his efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss there, a federal indictment also involving the 2020 election and Jan. 6, 2021, and a federal case in Florida involving the potential mishandling of classified documents after he left office.

Former President Trump’s hush money judge on Monday declined to recuse himself from the trial currently underway, refusing Trump’s latest demand that he step aside over his daughter’s employment at a firm that works for prominent Democrats.

Justice Juan Merchan’s denial, made from the bench on the first day of Trump’s first criminal trial, eliminates what could have been an eleventh-hour curveball before jury selection begins. He said the motion relied on “a series of references, innuendos and unsupported speculation.”

Report: DeSantis To Launch Fundraising Effort To Help Trump

        1

Conservatives are uniting to get a Republican back in the White House.

Florida Governor and former presidential contender Ron DeSantis reportedly plans to help former President Donald Trump raise money in the coming weeks and months ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

DeSantis told donors and supporters about his plans to fundraise for the former president at a private retreat last weekend, NBC News reported.

“I would say the majority in the room would now be willing to help Trump,” a DeSantis bundler who was at the recent meeting told NBC News.

“I will follow the governor’s lead and I will do anything that he or President Trump ask me to do to help him win this election,” said Texas businessman Roy Bailey. “I know where there are DeSantis supporters all over Texas and all over the country that will want to help President Trump.”

“He’s committed to helping Trump in any and every way,” Bailey added. “If we can unlock and motivate our donors for Trump and put more fuel in his tank, that’s what we want to do, and that’s what we need to do to make sure [President Joe] Biden is not reelected.”

The report noted that DeSantis’ full backing of the Trump campaign is a major asset for Trump because “DeSantis’ finance committee is full of fundraisers with massive networks” that are able to donate money.
