Fetterman Admits Trump’s ‘Special’ Bond With Pennsylvania Growing Post-Assassination Attempt

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman (D) acknowledged on Saturday that former President Donald Trump has a unique connection with the state, which he believes only intensified after the attempted assassination in Butler earlier this year.

Fetterman’s comments came as part of an effort to draw Vice President Kamala Harris’ attention to the dynamics in his must-win state. “I trust her instincts, and she’s got a great team around her. She’s an amazing candidate overall,” Fetterman said, before comparing Harris’ candidacy to that of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “Secretary Clinton was fantastic, perhaps the most supremely accomplished candidate I can remember. And see what happened.”

The senator pointed out Trump’s enduring appeal in Pennsylvania, stating, “Trump has created a special kind of hold. He has a special kind of place in Pennsylvania, and I think that only deepened after that first assassination attempt.”

The Daily Caller looked deeper into the senator’s provocative comments:

Trump survived the attempted assassination during a July 13 campaign rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania that left him slightly wounded, seriously injured two attendees and took the life of former volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore. Fetterman said that he wasn’t going to “mansplain” the situation to Vice President Kamala Harris, but noted that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was a “fantastic” presidential candidate in 2016 though she ultimately lost the presidency to Trump.

“Trump has created a special kind of a hold … he’s remade the party and he has a special kind of place in Pennsylvania,” Fetterman told interviewer Jeffrey Goldberg. “And I think that only deepened after that first assassination attempt.”

Harris currently leads Trump by 1.0% in a head-to-head matchup in Pennsylvania, according to the RealClearPolling average of polls, with the lead expanding to 2.17% when other candidates, such as Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein, independent candidate Cornel West and Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver, are included.

Fetterman warned elsewhere in his interview with Goldberg that Clinton was leading Trump in Pennsylvania polling during the 2016 race, but lost the crucial swing state to Trump.

“Everybody thought that it was in the bag, but that’s not the energy and the other kinds of things that were really consistent with what I’m witnessing all across,” he warned. “And then, sadly, we saw what happened.”

The senator is known for occasionally breaking with his party’s progressive base, particularly on issues like Israel and immigration.

Court Ruling In Key Swing State Could Impact 98,000 Votes

Controversy arose in Arizona on Friday as the state’s top court ruled that nearly 98,000 voters whose citizenship documents had not been confirmed can vote in all races.

The Arizona Supreme Court’s decision came after a “coding oversight” in the state’s election software. Secretary of State Adrian Fontes (D) maintained that “no illegal activity” had occurred.

The ruling has sparked debate in the critical swing state, with Fox News reporting heightened scrutiny over the potential impact of these votes in the upcoming election:

The database error called into question the citizenship status of 100,000 registered Arizona voters, affecting individuals who obtained their driver’s licenses before October 1996, and subsequently received duplicates before registering to vote after 2004.

Fontes and Stephen Richer, the Republican Maricopa County recorder, disagreed on what status the voters should hold following the “coding oversight.”

“This was discovered not because somebody was voting illegally and not because somebody was attempting to vote illegally, as far as we can tell,” Fontes said at a Tuesday afternoon news conference. “And this was basic voter roll maintenance, and it showed us that there is this issue.”

Richer filed a special action Tuesday asking the state Supreme Court to settle the question.

Richer expressed concern over the ruling, stating on X: “It is my position that these registrants have not satisfied Arizona’s documented proof of citizenship law, and therefore can only vote a ‘FED ONLY’ ballot.”

Arizona’s proof of citizenship law requires voters to provide documentation to participate in local and state elections, adding a layer of complexity to the case.

Focus Group Of Black Undecided Voters In Georgia Signals Trouble For Harris

A focus group of Black undecided voters in Georgia has raised concerns for Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, revealing dissatisfaction with her leadership and the current state of the economy. According to feedback from the group, many believe the economy performed better under former President Donald Trump.

The focus group, conducted by James Johnson of J.L. Partners for The Daily Mail, highlighted skepticism about Harris’ leadership abilities, with voters labeling her as “weak” and inconsistent. Some notable comments from participants include:

  • “If you look at the statistics now, we’re far worse than we were before. Everything is worse now with Biden and Harris.”
  • “Even though Trump didn’t make all the right choices, the economy just worked better under him. I think it was the overall business mindset that helped.”
  • “She kept saying that she’s a warrior, but I don’t think she is.”
  • “If you put her next to Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton, it’s like there’s no comparison. They would eat her up.”

The Daily Mail further reports:

A new shock poll conducted by the NAACP last week showed that one in four black men under 50 say they’re going to back President Donald Trump.

Numbers like that should terrify Vice President Kamala Harris‘ campaign – especially as they eye black communities across the county that are critical to winning in 2024.

Cobb County, Georgia is one of those places.

President Joe Biden carried Cobb in 2020 by almost ten percentage points.

These sentiments by the group reflect a potential challenge for Harris, particularly in Georgia, where the latest RealClearPolitics polling average shows Trump leading by 1.7 points.

Georgia State Elections Board Orders Hand Counting Of Ballots

1

The Georgia State Elections Board has issued a new ruling requiring all ballots to be hand-counted before the certification of this November’s election.

The board voted 3-2 to pass resolution 181-1-12-.12, mandating that a hand count be conducted at the precinct level on election night to ensure the totals align with machine results.

The New York Times further reports:

The new rule, which passed on a 3-2 vote, runs counter to extensive legal advice from the top election official and law enforcement officials in the state. A nonpartisan collective of local election officials had also objected to the change.

The measure is the latest in a stream of right-wing election policies passed by the State Election Board over the past few months. The board has come under increasing pressure from critics already concerned that it has been rewriting the rules of the game in a key swing state to favor former President Donald J. Trump. Last month, the board granted local officials new power over certifying the election, which opponents say could potentially disrupt the process if Mr. Trump loses in November.

Critics argue that requiring hand counting, in addition to a machine count, could introduce errors and confusion into the process and potentially disrupt the custody of ballots.

To start hand-counting on election night, poll workers would likely have to break open the seals on boxes of completed ballots, possibly exposing the ballots to fraud or loss. In previous elections, ballots remain sealed and stored securely unless a recount was ordered.

The ruling comes less than 50 days before a fiercely contested presidential election.

Kamala Harris Unveils Baffling Plans In Oprah Town Hall – Word Salad On Steroids

0

Vice President Kamala Harris discussed her plan to reduce the cost of living in a town hall hosted by Oprah Winfrey on Thursday. The recently-anointed Democratic nominee stated that she would achieve this by lowering the prices of essential items.

The question posed to Harris was straightforward enough and, quite frankly, on the minds of most persuadable voters: “What will you do to lower costs?”

Here’s exactly what she said:

“Yeah. I first of all, thank you both for being here and yours is a, a story I hear around the country as I travel, and in terms of both rightly, having the right to have aspirations and dreams and ambitions for your family and working hard and finding that the American dream is for this generation and so many recently far more elusive than it’s been, and we need to deal with that. And there are a number of ways. One is bringing down the cost of everyday necessities, including groceries.”

Yesterday’s Michigan town hall has since been ridiculed by numerous MAGA celebrities.

As Newsweeek reports:

During the 90-minute livestreamed interview, where Harris also took questions from the audience, the vice president discussed a number of key 2024 topics, such as abortion rights, immigration and gun violence.

A number of Donald Trump‘s supporters have mocked Harris for her at times lengthy responses during the event in the key swing state, with some suggesting that the vice president’s answers were a “word salad.”

During the interview, Harris told Winfrey that Americans are an “optimistic people,” adding: “Americans, by character, are people who have dreams and ambitions and aspirations. We believe in what is possible. We believe in what can be, and we believe in fighting for that.

“That’s how we came into being because the people before us understood that one of the greatest expressions for the love of our country—one of the greatest expressions of patriotism—is to fight for the ideals of who we are, which includes freedom to make decisions about your own body; freedom to be safe from gun violence; freedom to have access to the ballot box; freedom to be who you are and just be, to love who you love openly and with pride; freedom to just be.”

Reflecting on the perceived train wreck, politico and MAGA influencer Collin Rugg concluded, “After watching this and then watching the debate, I realize how much practice she had for that debate.”

“This interview is what Harris sounds like on a normal day.”

And television appearances as a presidential candidate don’t get friendlier than this…

Mysterious Eye Injuries Reported By Trump Rallygoers – What’s Behind It?

1

Excruciating pain…

Several attendees of former President Donald Trump’s rally in Tucson, Arizona, on Sept. 12 have reported unexplained eye injuries following the event. According to News 4 Tucson, 20 individuals seated behind Trump, many of them belonging to “Latinos for Trump,” have sought medical attention for symptoms that emerged after the rally.

Symptoms and ER Visits

The rallygoers experienced symptoms such as blurry vision, eye swelling and severe pain shortly after the event concluded. Many of those affected reported needing to visit the ER due to excruciating eye pain:

The News 4 Tucson Investigators spoke exclusively with six people who were seated on stage behind the former president during his rally in Tucson last week. Three of them agreed to on camera interviews.

One attendee, former Planned Parenthood director turned pro-life activist Mayra Rodriguez, was practically blind by the time News 4 Tucson interviewed her. The symptoms continue to affect the victims several days after the rally.

The other supporters who did not agree to on camera interviews told us about very similar injuries. One woman who is a local realtor said she had to cancel all her showings over the weekend because she couldn’t see well.

Sweltering Heat and Unexplained Injuries

The event occurred during intense 100-degree heat, potentially hazardous conditions for attendees, particularly the elderly and very young. However, the eye problems remain a mystery and unrelated to the extreme heat conditions.

The Trump campaign has acknowledged the situation and is actively investigating the cause of the unexplained eye issues.

Secret Service Response

In response to News 4 Tucson, the Secret Service stated that it was unaware of any injuries. Additionally, they mentioned that there was no indication of any planned threat to Trump or his supporters during the event. According to a spokesperson, nothing out of the ordinary occurred at the rally.

Trump Campaign’s Commitment

In response to the developments, a senior Trump campaign advisor said, “We remain committed to the countless patriots that attend our high-energy, high-impact rallies across the country.”

The investigation into the cause of the mysterious eye injuries is ongoing.

Harris Campaign Accused Of Using Hacked Trump Campaign Info

0

On Wednesday, the FBI and other U.S. intelligence agencies disclosed alarming developments regarding Iran’s alleged interference in the 2024 presidential election. The joint statement, released by the FBI, Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), confirmed that Iranian cyber actors attempted to share stolen information from the Trump campaign with the Biden-Harris campaign.

The report indicated that Iranian hackers sent unsolicited emails containing nonpublic Trump campaign data to individuals connected to the Biden-Harris campaign in late June and early July. While the agencies found no evidence that the recipients responded to the emails, the incident has sparked concerns about foreign interference in the U.S. election.

The Biden-Harris campaign condemned the Iranian cyber activity, emphasizing its cooperation with law enforcement since being informed of the phishing attempts. Campaign spokesperson Morgan Finkelstein stated that the emails targeted the personal accounts of staff members rather than official campaign addresses, adding, “We condemn in the strongest terms any effort by foreign actors to interfere in U.S. elections.”

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign accused Iran of trying to help the Harris-Biden ticket and demanded clarity on whether the stolen material had been used. Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt questioned, “What did they know, and when did they know it?”

The matter has now drawn attention on Capitol Hill, with House Intelligence Committee members weighing in. Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) noted that there was no evidence the Biden campaign responded to the unsolicited emails, while praising Harris and Biden for recognizing that foreign election interference is unacceptable.

Iran, for its part, has denied any involvement. The Iranian Mission to the United Nations issued a statement rejecting the accusations, calling for the U.S. to provide substantiated evidence.

This revelation follows reports last month of internal communications from the Trump campaign being hacked, including emails that were allegedly leaked to Politico. The leaked documents included a 271-page dossier on Trump’s running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance, detailing potential vulnerabilities in his political record.

The developments have intensified concerns regarding foreign influence and interference in the 2024 election, as well as the need for investigations and safeguards to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.

Teamsters Union Withholds Presidential Endorsement For First Time Since 1996

After union polling data shows Trump leading decisively among members…

In a historic decision, the Teamsters’ General Executive Board announced that the union will not be endorsing a presidential candidate in the 2024 election, following a surprising surge in support for former President Donald Trump among its membership. This marks the first time since 1996 that the influential labor union, one of the largest in the U.S., has opted not to back a candidate for the presidency.

The decision comes after internal polling revealed significant support for Trump, contrasting with the union’s past endorsements of Democratic candidates. The move reflects the diverse political views within the union’s 1.3 million members and its commitment to focusing on issues rather than party lines.

Earlier Wednesday, the Teamsters released its presidential endorsement polling data following a meeting between Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien and Vice President Kamala Harris. O’Brien emphasized the union’s commitment to a transparent endorsement process driven by its members.

“We are delivering on that promise to our members,” O’Brien said in a press release Wednesday. “Our final decision around a possible Presidential endorsement will not be made lightly, but you can be sure it will be driven directly by our diverse membership.”

Polling data shared by the union’s verified X account revealed positive results for the Trump campaign after President Joe Biden decided not to forgo reelection. A town hall straw poll initially showed President Joe Biden edging out Trump, 44.3% to 36.3%, before the incumbent president dropped out of the race. However, more recent electronic member polling, conducted from July 24 through Sept. 15, showed Trump leading with 59.6% of Teamsters’ support compared to Harris’ 34%. Additionally, a research phone poll conducted independently by Lake Research Partners from Sept. 9 to Sept. 15 showed Trump ahead with 58% support compared to Harris’ 31%.

The polling followed the major party conventions and the Sept. 10 presidential debate, which pundits widely viewed as a win for Harris. Despite her favorable debate reviews, Trump remains the preferred candidate among the overwhelming majority of Teamster respondents.

O’Brien’s meeting with Harris came at a critical time, as the union had yet to endorse a candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

Speaking about his conversation with Harris, O’Brien emphasized the union’s focus on issues important to its members and noted the political diversity within the Teamsters. “We don’t just represent registered Democrats. We represent registered Republicans and independents,” he said, adding that Harris acknowledged the union’s political diversity.

While many unions quickly endorsed the Democratic ticket, the Teamsters held out, with O’Brien making it clear that the union’s endorsement would depend on politicians’ actions rather than their party affiliation.

Congressman Pushes Trump To Drop Out Of Race After Debate

9

One of the harshest responses yet…

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) suggested former President Donald Trump should consider dropping out of the presidential race following his performance in Tuesday night’s debate.

Moskowitz issued a statement on Wednesday titled, “Trump’s ability to continue campaign,” and it echoed sentiment aimed at President Biden following his clash with Trump earlier this year.

“If we are being honest, last night’s debate performance by former President Donald Trump was disastrous and hard to watch,” Moskowitz said.

“I believe now is the time for the former President to have those difficult conversations about whether or not he should continue serving as the Republican Party’s nominee for President,” he continued. “For now, I want to give him the space to meet with his family and make that decision.”

Polls from the debate show most viewers believe Harris came out on top. A CNN poll of debate watchers had 63% saying Harris won by the end of their 90-minute contest, compared to 37% for Trump.

However, Trump’s performance has not set off the widespread shock and concern among Republicans that surged through the Democrat Party following Biden’s debate performance in July. That concern ultimately forced Biden out of the race, endorsing Harris instead.

Contacted regarding Moskowitz’ statement on Wednesday, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung replied, “Moskowitz is a f—ing moron,” according to The Hill.

Fox News has extended a formal invitation to both the Trump and Harris campaigns for a second debate next month.

Trump Proposes Punishment For ABC After Debate

Trump wants answers…

Former President Trump is suggesting ABC News be punished for what he is calling a “hostile performance” by the network’s debate moderators on Tuesday evening.

“ABC took a big hit last night,” Trump said Wednesday morning during an appearance on “Fox and Friends.”

“I mean, to be honest, they’re a news organization. They have to be licensed to do it. They ought to take away their license for the way they did that.”

Watch:

The Federal Communications Commission does not license major broadcast networks such as ABC, but does license some local stations.

After Tuesday’s debate, which pundits on both sides say went unexpectedly poorly for Trump, the former president argued the event was “three on one,” and has not accepted Harris’s challenge to meet for a second event.
