    Report: Team Biden Exiling ‘Disloyal’ Aides As Campaign Struggles

    There’s trouble with Team Biden…

    According to a recent report from Axios, the Biden campaign is exiling aides who dare to question its strategy as the President continues to slide backward in polls.

    The report notes that senior Democrats have expressed concerns that Biden’s path to victory “relies on voter concerns about Jan. 6, political violence, democracy and Donald Trump’s character.”

    “It is unclear to many of us watching from the outside whether the president and his core team realize how dire the situation is right now, and whether they even have a plan to fix it,” one Democrat operative told Axios. “That is scary.”

    Axios has more:

    People close to the president told Axios they worry about raising concerns in meetings because Biden’s group of longtime loyal aides can exile dissenters.

    “Even for those close to the center, there is a hesitance to raise skepticism or doubt about the current path, for fear of being viewed as disloyal,” a person in Biden’s orbit told Axios, speaking on condition of anonymity because of those dynamics. “There is not a discussion that a change of course is needed.”

    The source of the enforced enthusiasm on the Biden campaign is reportedly top political aide Mike Donilon, who tells colleagues that “voters will do the right thing” and “Joe Biden is a great president, and great presidents get reelected.”

    A 2022 Democrat campaign aide asserted that “2022 was a classic case of running away from a president, and their takeaway was, ‘Wow people really like us.’”

    Fox News reported that an aggregate of network polls found dwindling support for President Biden among Black voters, down to 70% in 2024 from 86% in 2020. Trump, meanwhile, has cut into Biden’s coalition, according to polling, tripling his support from Black voters over the last four years, from 7% in 2020 to 21% in 2024.

    CNN Announces New Rules Ahead Of Hostile Debate

    Presidential debates will look different this year…

    CNN has reportedly finalized the rules for the first presidential debate scheduled for June 27 in Atlanta.

    CNN said there will be two commercial breaks during the debate, and candidates will not be allowed to consult with other members of their campaign during that time.

    The network also noted that candidates’ podiums and positions will be determined by a coin flip, their mics will be muted outside of speaking time, and they will only be provided with a pen, a notepad and a bottle of water.

    There will be no opening statements. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will each have two minutes to answer questions — followed by one-minute rebuttals and responses to the rebuttals. Red lights visible to the candidates will flash when they have five seconds left, and turn solid red when time has expired. And each man’s microphone will be muted when it is not his turn to speak.

    Candidates will not be allowed to bring props or prepared notes.

    Additionally, for the first time in recent history, the debate between presidential contenders won’t have a studio audience.

    To qualify to participate in the televised debate a candidate must have received 15% support in four separate national polls, and be on the ballot in enough states to reach 270 electoral college votes. Candidates must also meet the requirements outlined in Article II, Section 1 of the US Constitution to serve as president.

    Currently, Independent candidate Kennedy is on the ballot in six states, totaling 89 potential Electoral College votes.

    Battleground State Tips To Trump In Latest Poll

    New reports indicate Donald Trump is leading in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.

    A new Marist College Poll indicates Trump at 47% support and Biden at 45% backing among registered voters in Pennsylvania. 

    The new poll from Marist, conducted June 3-6, points to problems for Biden with parts of the Democratic Party’s base.

    Fox News has more:

    “While still strong, Biden has lost his formidable support among Black voters. 68% break for Biden to 23% for Trump. Biden handily won the support of most Black voters in the 2020 presidential election, 92% to 7% for Trump,” the poll’s release spotlights.

    The poll also points to a Trump surge among voters under age 45 in Pennsylvania. Biden carried the group by 24 points in his victory four years ago, but the survey indicates Biden’s edge at just two points over Trump.

    However, the survey also highlights that “Trump’s advantage among older voters has evaporated. He carried voters 45 or older by 12 percentage points in 2020. Now, three percentage points separate Trump (48%) and Biden (45%) among this group.”

    Trump became the first Republican in nearly three decades to win Pennsylvania when he carried it by a razor-thin margin in his 2016 White House victory over Hillary Clinton. Four years later, Biden narrowly carried his native state en route to defeating Trump and winning the presidency.

    Trump Takes Part In Influencing Legal Future

    Former President Donald Trump is scheduled for a probation interview Monday, a standard part of the sentencing process for those convicted in New York state court.

    The interview, aimed at influencing his upcoming sentencing in July, will take place later today.

    NBC News has more on the virtual hearing:

    The pre-sentencing probation interview will be done over a special virtual network with added security measures, and the interviewer will be a female, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation. The call is not expected to be held over Zoom, those sources added.

    Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, was convicted last month on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the historic case. The probation interview is required by the court as part of the former president’s pre-sentencing report.

    Judge Juan Merchan, who is presiding over the hush money case, permitted Blanche to be present for the probation interview after prosecutors did not object. The Trump defense team is scheduled to submit their sentencing recommendation on June 13.

    The former president is scheduled to be sentenced for all 34 felony counts in New York on July 11, days before the Republican National Convention begins.

    Trump will conduct the interview from Mar-a-Lago in Florida with Blanche by his side.

    The probation officer will record Trump’s lack of criminal history, employment record, current financial status, and observations regarding his “physical and mental condition,” all of which Merchan will consider in his sentencing.

    Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) is once again raising the stakes, doubling down on her previous claims that an unknown number of Trump voters might be gearing up for a Ruby Ridge or Waco-style standoff.

    Now, the veteran congresswoman is hinting that the former president’s fans could be plotting a sequel to the Civil War, and she’s calling for an official government probe to get to the bottom of it. (RELATED: All In The Family: Maxine Waters Continues To Pay Daughter With Campaign Cash)

    Waters’ rhetoric hit new heights during an appearance on MSNBC, where she dissected Trump’s language.

    “I’m worried that he’s so divisive and that he’s talking about retribution, and they’re talking about revenge and I think that that’s dangerous. He’s even mentioned civil war at one point, talked about there would be bloodshed,” Waters told host Jonathan Capehart.

    “Are they preparing a civil war against us?” she asked, leaving the question hanging in the air. “Should we be concerned about our safety? What is [Trump] doing with this divisive language? It is dangerous.”

    The Los Angeles-area Democrat promised to enlist the “criminal justice system” to investigate what she described as the activities of “domestic terrorists,” clearly pointing the finger at Trump supporters.

    “It is not just that [Trump is] a criminal, this is a man who disrespects the Constitution and democracy and we have got to find out what they are doing as domestic terrorists [who] tried to take over the government on Jan. 6,” Waters continued.

    With a flair for the dramatic, Waters posed another rhetorical question, “How far is this going to go? Are they going to be attacking? Whom are they going to attack? What are we going to do?     After Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts, Waters took to social media with gusto, lambasting the presumptive Republican nominee.

    Chatting yet again with host Jonathan Capehart, Waters declared her plan to press the Justice Department and the White House on how President Biden would respond if his opponent refuses to accept the election results.

    But she didn’t stop there – Waters went on to allege (without evidence) that shadowy “right-wing organizations” are “training up in the hills somewhere,” suggesting that extremist violence against the government isn’t just a possibility but practically a done deal.

    50 Cent: Black Men Backing Trump Over Biden Post-Conviction

    Rap icon 50 Cent confirmed after a bipartisan meet-and-greet on Capitol Hill that Black people, particularly men, are identifying with former President Donald Trump following his controversial conviction.

    The Grammy Award-winning artist and savvy entrepreneur schmoozed with lawmakers from both parties while lobbying for Black entrepreneurs and business owners.

    During the meeting, one reporter asked 50 Cent, given name Curtis Jackson, about the prevailing mood among Black men before the 2024 presidential election.

    “I see them identifying with Trump,” he confidently responded.

    The reporter followed up: “Why do you say that?”

    According to the music mogul, it was because the government has filed “RICO charges” against Trump.

    Per Breitbart:

    In August 2023, Trump was indicted on a racketeering charge.

    Under the federal Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, which was passed in 1970, there are around 35 offenses that are defined as racketeering. Some examples of racketeering charges consist of gambling, murder, kidnapping, bribery, and drug dealing.

    Most recently, Trump was found guilty of 34 charges of falsifying business records in the first degree related to payments made to adult entertainment star, Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election.

    This is not the first time that the famous rapper has seemingly come out in favor of Trump. In October 2020, 50 Cent criticized Biden’s proposed tax plan in a post on Instagram and seemed to endorse Trump for reelection, writing that people should vote for him.

    In February of this year, 50 Cent suggested that “maybe Trump is the answer” after New York City Mayor Eric Adams proposed distributing pre-paid credit cards to migrants staying in the city.

    Judiciary Committee Republican Floated As Trump’s VP

    The dream team?

    Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) signaled an openness to being former President Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick when asked over the weekend during a Sunday interview on NBC News’ “Meet The Press” with guest host Peter Alexander.

    “You are reportedly on Donald Trump’s short list of possible running mates,” Alexander said. “Would you accept if Donald Trump asked you?”

    “Well, Peter, Donald Trump’s going to make this choice,” Cotton responded. “I suspect only he knows who’s on his short list.”

    Cotton said that he has not been in direct contact with the Trump campaign about who the presumed candidate will pick as his vice presidential running mate or about any position in his administration.

    When asked if he would accept the job if offered it, Cotton responded: “Peter, any great patriot, if offered a chance to serve our country by the president, would have to consider it seriously. But what I’m focused on, like the president, is making sure that we win this election in November, and I want to help him govern successfully to restore the peace and prosperity that he brought to America for four years that Joe Biden has destroyed.”

    Biden’s Poor Re-election Performance Sends Dems Into ‘Freakout’

    Democrats are reeling…

    According to a new Politico report citing multiple prominent Democrat strategists, advisers, and donors the Biden campaign is on the brink of a meltdown. The report described Democrats close to Joe Biden as being in “freakout” mode five months before Election Day, experiencing “a pervasive sense of fear,” where “anxiety has morphed into palpable trepidation”

    “You don’t want to be that guy who is on the record saying we’re doomed, or the campaign’s bad or Biden’s making mistakes. Nobody wants to be that guy,” said a Democratic operative in close touch with the White House and granted anonymity to speak freely.

    But Biden’s stubbornly poor polling and the stakes of the election “are creating the freakout,” he said.

    Politico noted that Trump’s April fundraising haul is also a major concern for Biden’s inner circle. April marked the first month Trump out-raised the President as Biden continues to struggle in the polls.

    One adviser to major Democratic Party donors provided a running list that has been shared with funders of nearly two dozen reasons why Biden could lose, ranging from immigration and high inflation to the president’s age, the unpopularity of Vice President Kamala Harris and the presence of third-party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

    The adviser added, “The list of why we ‘could’ win is so small I don’t even need to keep the list on my phone.”

    However, despite concerns echoing among many Democrats, Biden spokesperson Kevin Munoz offered a more optimistic tone for the Biden campaign telling Politico that “Trump’s photo-ops and PR stunts may get under the skin of some very serious D.C. people as compelling campaigning, but they will do nothing to win over the voters that will decide this election.” He also cited the hot-button issue of abortion rights as a major determining factor for voters.

    Trump Drops Unexpected New VP Shortlist

    Some new names and faces…

    Former President Donald Trump floated a list of four names for VP that to much surprise did not include Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) or Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) who have been loyal Trump supporters.

    However, in an exclusive post-rally interview with News 12 New Jersey’s Tara Rosenblum at Crotona Park in the Bronx, Trump didn’t have either of them on his mind.

    When Rosenblum pushed Trump to “make news” and name some names, Trump initially said he didn’t want to — then dropped four names a few seconds later that included one Black candidate who isn’t Scott or Donalds and one Hispanic candidate who mocked Trump’s penis size in 2016:

    TARA ROSENBLUM: So if not Nikki, then who? Let’s make some news tonight. You and I, for your hometown TV station. Share with me. Share with me your top three candidates for your running mate at this point.

    DONALD TRUMP: Well, we have so many. I don’t want to do that, but we have so many. You could take people like Ben Carson. You could take people like Marco Rubio, JD Vance.

    I mean, there are so many. Elise is doing a fantastic job here. But but I could go on for quite a long time. We have many people that would do a really fantastic job.

    TARA ROSENBLUM: Do you have a timeline on when you’ll make the decision?

    Report: GOP Senators Snub Trump Convention Invite

    Some Senate Republicans Are still keeping Donald Trump at arms length.

    Four Senate GOP members in that mold — Sens. Mitt Romney (Utah), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Todd Young (Ind.) and Thom Tillis (N.C.) — told The Hill they do not plan on traveling to the Republican National Convention in July to celebrate what will be a “coronation” of the ex-president. Five others — Sens. Mike Rounds (S.D.), Susan Collins (Maine), Bill Cassidy (La.), Jerry Moran (Kan.) and Rand Paul (Ky.) — indicated they have not decided whether to go at this point.

    “Everybody’s got to make their own call about it, but it’s part of our political life,” Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) said. “The conventions have been going on for a long time, and I think the parties are tasked with trying to pull people together and make the decisions that are important to the leadership of our country.

    “I understand if there are people for whom it is not a big priority,” Thune added. 

    Murkowski and Young both said they both have travel plans that week but did not divulge what they were. Romney was never expected to go, given the mutual disdain between him and Trump, whom he twice voted to convict in impeachment trials. 

    Tillis said in a brief interview that while he hasn’t finalized his plans, he is “likely not going to go.” 

    “I’m just not a convention-goer, quite honestly. Back in the state, we have races to run. We’ll be represented,” Tillis said of the convention, noting that he cannot be a delegate. “There’s other competing priorities that week that I have to sort out before I make a decision.” 

    Collins said that she has not made a decision and needs to go over her schedule. Cassidy told The Hill to ask him closer to the convention and indicated he has not decided either.

    Rounds indicated that while he has no plans to attend, he still could be swayed if Trump selects someone he approves of as his running mate. 

    “Yeah, it might,” Rounds said when asked if Trump selecting Scott could sway him to show up in Milwaukee. “If we could go and support his candidacy, that would be something I would really take a hard look at. … I haven’t got any hotel rooms yet, but that doesn’t mean I might not in the future.”
