The Philadelphia Eagles will reportedly go to the White House if invited, pouring cold water on the online firestorm after bogus claims said the Super Bowl champions rejected the invitation
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday evening that the team “looks forward” to receiving an invitation from President Donald Trump.
“To those wondering,” Schefter said in a tweet. “Eagles sources say the team is planning on visiting the White House this off-season and looks forward to receiving its invitation.”

That tweet came after a multi-day social media frenzy that began with a bogus claim that the Eagles had already turned down the president’s offer. The rumor was based on a weeks-old report from The U.S. Sun, which claimed an anonymous player told the outlet that everyone on the team decided days before Super Bowl LIX that they would not visit the White House if they won the game.
The rumor drew the ire of a number of prominent conservative voices, including Megyn Kelly. Hours after lashing out at the team, however, Kelly acknowledged the possibility that she’d been duped amid the social media outrage.
According to additional reporting from insider Ian Rapoport, the team would be “honored” to receive an invitation and are excited about going to the White Hous

The tradition of Super Bowl-winning teams visiting the White House began with the Pittsburgh Steelers after their Super Bowl XIV victory in 1980 during Jimmy Carter’s presidency.
While most teams have visited over the years, the tradition has increasingly become political, with players and teams sometimes declining the invitation based on personal or political reasons.
In 2018, President Trump notably disinvited the Philadelphia Eagles after reports emerged that multiple players planned to skip in protest.
CBS News reporter Margaret Brennan is in hot water…
Vice President JD Vance snapped at Brennan after she claimed that Nazis “weaponized” free speech in order to perpetrate the Holocaust.
Her remark occurred during a Sunday interview with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which she pressed the Trump official over comments made by Vance in Munich earlier this week. Vance criticized European NATO allies on Tuesday for stifling free speech and claimed the enemy of the continent was not Russia or China but rather the “enemy within.”
Brennan also criticized Vance for visiting with leaders of Germany’s far-right AfD party, stating, “Well, he was standing in a country where free speech was weaponized to conduct a genocide, and he met with the head of a political party that has far-right views and some historic ties to extreme groups.”
Rubio responded, “No, I have to disagree with you.” He added:
Free speech was not used to conduct a genocide. The genocide was conducted by an authoritarian Nazi regime that happened to also be genocidal because they hated Jews and they hated minorities and they hated those that they had a list of people they hated, but primarily the Jews. There was no free speech in Nazi Germany. There was none. There was also no opposition in Nazi Germany. They were a sole and only party that governed that country. So, that’s not an accurate reflection of history.
Multiple conservatives and prominent Trump allies slammed Brennan for making the comment following the Sunday interview on Face The Nation. However, Vance responded with a quick response on X mocking Brennan.
This is a crazy exchange.
Does the media really think the holocaust was caused by free speech? https://t.co/EBUKx75Wfm
“This is a crazy exchange,” Vance wrote to his followers on Sunday. “Does the media really think the holocaust was caused by free speech?”
The exchange triggered furious responses online:
This is being shared everywhere, and it should be, because it’s historically illiterate, antagonistic to a fundamental value, and done so condescendingly from a highly paid “news” desk.
Utterly bizarre assertion from Margaret Brennan. She claims the Nazi Holocaust occurred because "free speech was weaponized" in Germany, thus making Vance's comments all the more worrisome. Recasting the Holocaust as a consequence of excessive free speech is just totally bonkers pic.twitter.com/2vefGlzT6s
Margaret Brennan claiming that free speech was weaponized in Germany to commit genocide exposes a primary truth about the legacy press: These people are very dumb.
“You’re standing in a country where free speech was weaponized to conduct a genocide.”

Axios announced it will comply with the Trump administration’s decision to rename the “Gulf of Mexico” the “Gulf of America” in its reporting, saying its audience is mostly U.S.-based compared to other media outlets.
“Our standard is to use ‘Gulf of America (renamed by U.S. from Gulf of Mexico)’ in our reporting because our audience is mostly U.S.-based compared to other publishers with international audiences,” said a statement from Axios released on the social platform X.
Our top priority at Axios is to provide readers with clinical, fact-based reporting.
Our standard is to use ‘Gulf of America (renamed by U.S. from Gulf of Mexico)’ in our reporting because our audience is mostly U.S.-based compared to other publishers…
“At the same time, the government should never dictate how any news organization makes editorial decisions. The AP and all news organizations should be free to report as they see fit,” the statement added.
Axios’s announcement comes a day after the White House said it would limit the Associated Press’ access to the Oval Office and Air Force One over its decision not to use “Gulf of America” in its reporting.
“The Associated Press continues to ignore the lawful geographic name change of the Gulf of America,” White House deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich wrote in a post Friday on X.
The Associated Press continues to ignore the lawful geographic name change of the Gulf of America. This decision is not just divisive, but it also exposes the Associated Press' commitment to misinformation. While their right to irresponsible and dishonest reporting is protected…
In a statement to The Hill Friday, the AP said, “Freedom of speech is a pillar of American democracy and a core value of the American people.”
“The actions taken to restrict AP’s coverage of presidential events because of how we refer to a geographic location chip away at this important right enshrined in the U.S. Constitution for all Americans,” a spokesperson for the outlet added.
A copy of President Donald Trump’s mugshot from his arrest in Georgia on RICO and other charges was framed in gold and put on the wall in an entryway to the Oval Office.

The Post’s front page showing President Trump’s Georgia mug shot was spotted Thursday on a wall just outside the Oval Office — indicating the 45th and 47th president isn’t embarrassed by the snap and may even view it as motivation as he begins his second term.
The framed newspaper appears to be in the office of Trump’s secretaries — located between the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room. The space often serves as an entryway for guests walking into the Oval.
The surprising decorating choice was revealed during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit when the leaders were seated in front of the Oval Office’s fireplace — with the door behind Trump left open.
Trump was arrested, fingerprinted, and had his photo taken in Fulton County, Georgia, on August 23, 2024, after he was charged for allegedly conspiring to overthrow the 2020 election.
“What has taken place here is a travesty of justice,” he said after bonding out. “We did nothing wrong at all, and we have every single right to challenge an election we think is dishonest.”

In what some are claiming is a dig at his vice president, Trump declined to explicitly name JD Vance as his successor during his recent interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier.
In a clip from his interview with the president that aired Monday afternoon on Fox, Baier asked “Do you view Vice President JD Vance as your successor, the Republican nominee in 2028?”
“No, but he’s very capable,” answered Trump decisively. “I mean, I don’t think that it, you know, I think you have a lot of very capable people. So far, I think he’s doing a fantastic job. It’s too early, we’re just starting.”
“But by the time you get to the midterms, he’s going to be looking for an endorsement,” observed Baier.
Trump then deflected by submitting that “a lot of people have said that this has been the greatest opening almost three weeks in the history of the presidency.”
I think it was a little shocking when he said no, you know, I wasn’t expecting that. But, you know, following up, it is you know, once you get to the midterm, it starts, you start to think about 2028. And obviously, one would think JD Vance is going to be trying to position for that role. But clearly, the president is not ready to talk about that, or think about it, and says that there are other other people that may get in the mix.
Watch:
So many people think this is a dig at JD Vance.
They don’t know how Trump works.
Trump isn’t going to crown JD successor with 21 days of seeing his work as VP.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused conservative commentator Tucker Carlson of working with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Responding to Carlson’s own appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored – during which he criticized Zelensky for his persecution of political opponents and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – the Ukrainian president claimed, “Regrettably, this blogger or journalist, whatever he wants to call him, he unfortunately fully repeats words of the Putin.”
“It seems to me that to this journalist, I do not remember his surname. Excuse me, Tucker. Yes, Tucker, his name, but it seems to me he needs to more deeply understand what’s happening in Ukraine,” Zelensky said during an appearance on pundit Piers Morgan’s program. “Just stop working for [Russian President Vladimir] Putin.”
Carlson, Zelensky said, knows better.
“When he simply says something, you know, just throwing the words,” the Ukrainian leader said. “Has he for one time in his lifetime lost his close ones? I wish to his family, I do not know his family, I wish them peace and no losses, but one must have his own opinion and understand that he probably influences many people. He’s simply disinforming them, misinforming the people.”
Watch:
Carlson, a former Fox News host, recently launched his own media company and used an interview and commentary style internet show to feature conversations with newsmakers and other public figures.
During his appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Zelensky also claimed he had been invited to President Donald Trump’s inauguration but decided not to go.
“President Trump invited me to his inauguration, but he invited me in very general terms, as maybe other leaders,” he said. “I think that it was simply not very appropriate for me to come. He wouldn’t have time for [a] personal meeting.”
The Federal Communication Commission (FCC) released the unedited transcript handed over by CBS News of its controversial “60 Minutes” interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris.
The raw transcript showed CBS News had aired only the first half of her response to “60 Minutes” correspondent Bill Whitaker’s question about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not “listening” to the Biden administration in a preview clip that aired on “Face the Nation,” but aired only the second half of her response during the primetime special.
“But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening,” Whitaker said in the October 2024 interview. “The Wall Street Journal said that he — that your administration has repeatedly been blindsided by Netanyahu, and in fact, he has rebuffed just about all of your administration’s entreaties.”
“Well, Bill, the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by, or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region. And we’re not going to stop doing that. We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end,” Harris responded.
President Donald Trump’s FCC Brendan Carr ordered CBS News to hand over the unedited transcript as part of its investigation into whether the network violated the FCC’s “news distortion” policy after a complaint was filed.
CBS provided the FCC with unredacted video & a transcript of VP Harris’s ‘60 Minutes’ interview in response to the FCC’s review of a News Distortion complaint.
CBS did not ask for confidential or non-public treatment of these materials.
“The policy says you can’t swap answers out to make it look like somebody said something entirely different,” Carr told Fox News’ Dana Perino on Monday, later adding it would have been “fine” if it was edited for length and clarity.
“CBS’s conduct is hard to explain,” Carr told Fox News Digital. “On the one hand, CBS immediately released the unredacted transcript of a recent interview with Vice President Vance. Yet for months they refused to release the one with Vice President Harris.”
“The FCC has now opened up a proceeding and is seeking public comment on the News Distortion complaint. Transparency here is important. The FCC’s review will continue, and we look forward to the public’s feedback,” Carr added.
In a preview clip that aired on “Face the Nation,” Harris was asked why it seemed like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wasn’t listening to the U.S.
“Well, Bill, the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by, or a result of, many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region,” Harris responded in the “Face the Nation” clip.
🚨 #BREAKING: President Trump has filed a $10 BILLION lawsuit against CBS News for “deceptively doctoring” Kamala Harris’ 60 Minutes interview.

Harris was mocked by conservatives for offering a lengthy “word salad” to Whitaker. But when that same question aired the following night in the primetime election special, a shorter, more focused answer from the vice president followed.
Critics accused CBS News of editing Harris’ “word salad” answer to shield the vice president from further backlash, and there were calls for the network to release the full transcript after it only shared transcripts of what had aired. CBS News refused to release the raw transcript at the time.
In October, Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS News alleging election interference over its handling of the “60 Minutes” interview, accusing the network of aiding his Democratic rival through deceptive editing just days before the election. Veteran journalist Chuck Todd has officially left NBC News, marking the end of a career spanning decades in political reporting and television analysis.
The longtime political journalist and television host is best known for his tenure as the moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press—the longest-running TV show in history—from 2014 to 2023.
Todd started in political journalism as the editor-in-chief of The Hotline, a daily political briefing by the National Journal. His deep knowledge of political data and elections earned him recognition in Washington.
He joined NBC News in 2007 as the network’s political director, where he became a frequent on-air analyst.
In 2008, Todd became the NBC News Chief White House Correspondent, covering the Obama administration.
Todd replaced David Gregory as the moderator of Meet the Press in 2014. Under his tenure, the show continued to be a major platform for political discussions, though he received criticism for being overly accommodating to certain guests.
In June 2023, Todd announced he would step down, and Kristen Welker took over in September. He remained with NBC as the network’s chief political analyst.
Though Todd is leaving NBC News, the New York Postreports that he’s taking his podcast, Chuck Toddcast, with him:
“There’s never a perfect time to leave a place that’s been a professional home for so long, but I’m pretty excited about a few new projects that are on the cusp of going from ‘pie in the sky’ to ‘near reality,’ Todd told NBC News staffers in a memo Friday.
Todd confirmed his departure on Friday. When The Post sought comment from Todd via his NBC work email, the automatic message read: “Friday, January 31st was my final day at NBC.”
According to the memo, Todd told colleagues that he intends to take his podcast with him.
The “Chuck Toddcast” is “coming with me,” according to Todd, who urged colleagues to “stay tuned for an announcement about its new home soon.”
Todd has had several public confrontations with President Donald Trump. Throughout Trump’s political career, Todd has been critical of Trump’s actions and policies, leading to tensions between the two.
In 2017, during an interview on Meet the Press, Todd challenged White House counselor Kellyanne Conway over the administration’s claim of “alternative facts” regarding the inauguration crowd size.
Trump has also targeted Todd personally, referring to him with nicknames such as “Sleepy Eyes” and publicly criticizing his journalistic integrity.

CNN political commentator Bakari Sellers deleted a post blaming President Donald Trump for the deadly airplane-helicopter collision near the Potomac and quickly apologized
The nation was stunned when an American Airlines flight with over 60 people aboard collided with a BlackHawk Army Helicopter near Ronald Reagan National Airport at 8:48 pm Wednesday night.
On social media, some posted tweets suggesting President Trump could be to blame by referencing recent White House announcements. In one post, Sellers posted a screenshot of a recent press release entitled “Trump’s Dangerous Freeze of Air Traffic Control Hiring” and captioned it “8 days ago.”
Sellers deleted the post and apologized for the timing of his observation, writing:
I deleted the post because timing matters. Politics at this point does not. I fucked up, I own that. I am very prayerful but I’m also very frustrated upset and disturbed with where we are as a country. I recognize, and I will do better.
The only thing that matters is rescuing the survivors, and ensuring this never happens again.
No survivors have been found or expected, authorities said Thursday at an early-morning press conference, after a late-night midair crash between a passenger plane and Army helicopter near Washington, D.C.
🚨BREAKING: DC Fire Chief John Donnelly officially just announced that there are no survivors in the DC plane crash.

Authorities have moved to recovery efforts in the crash, which President Trump and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy both said they believed was preventable.
Shortly after the crash, President Trump write on X that the strategy looked “preventable.”
The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport. The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time. It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn. Why didn’t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane. This is a bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented. NOT GOOD!!!
The flight, carrying 60 passengers and four crew members, was en route from Wichita, Kan., to Washington, D.C. It collided with an Army UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter out of Fort Belvoir, Va.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the Pentagon and the US Army have launched an investigation into the catastrophic midair collision
Hegseth confirmed the probe in a statement on X, emphasizing that the investigation was “launched immediately.”
He called the incident “absolutely tragic” and noted that search and rescue efforts were still ongoing. “Prayers for all impacted souls, and their families,” he added.
Latest below. Absolutely tragic. Search and rescue efforts still ongoing. Prayers for all impacted souls, and their families.
American Airlines CEO Robert Isom expressed “deep sorrow” about the crash in a statement.
Isom, in a video statement, said the aircraft was operated by PSA Airlines, a subsidiary of American Airlines.
“First and most importantly, I’d like to express our deep sorrow about these events,” Isom said. “This is a difficult day for all of us at American Airlines and our efforts now are focused entirely on the needs of our passengers, crew members, partners, first responders, along with their families and loved ones.”
Isom noted that the company was working with local, state and federal authorities to assess the crash and respond to the situation.
“We’re cooperating fully with the National Transportation Safety Board and its investigation and will continue to provide all the information we can,” he said.
The airline chief added that the company wants to learn everything it can about the crash but acknowledged that it “will take time.”
Members of American Airlines’ “Go team” are being deployed to aid the situation.
“I know that there are many questions in this early stage I just won’t be able to answer many, but we’ll provide additional information as it comes,” Isom added.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is holding her first press conference on Tuesday, the first of President Donald Trump’s second administration.
Leavitt is the youngest person to ever hold her position at just 27 years old. The James S. Brady Press Briefing Room was home to plenty of clashes during Trump’s first term where Sean Spicer, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Stephanie Grisham, and Kayleigh McEnany all served as press secretaries.
Leavitt was announced as press secretary for the new administration in November after serving as spokesperson for Trump’s campaign and his transition.
“I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we Make America Great Again,” Trump wrote when announcing Leavitt’s position.
