    Eric Trump Suggests Possibility Of ‘Inside Job’ In Second Assassination Attempt On Donald Trump

    Eric Trump raised concerns about the second assassination attempt on his father, former President Donald Trump, suggesting that it might have been an “inside job” during a Monday interview with Megyn Kelly on SiriusXM’s The Megyn Kelly Show.

    The remarks came after the arrest of Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, who is accused of attempting to assassinate Trump at the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. Federal and local authorities confirmed Routh’s apprehension on Sunday.

    When Kelly asked whether the attack could have been an inside job, Eric Trump urged viewers to “entertain everything.”

    “Everybody had better entertain it… twice in five weeks, you better start entertaining all of those scenarios, because something is very, very wrong,” he stated, expressing disbelief at how Routh, armed with an AK-style rifle, crossed a major highway in broad daylight without detection.

    Eric Trump questioned how the alleged gunman was able to breach multiple layers of security and get within close range of his father during the incident. “He literally got across all of that holding a long gun, and no one saw this? There weren’t eyes on the street?” he asked.

    He concluded by emphasizing the need to enhance security measures around the former president, stating, “We better really start locking down this perimeter, because something is awfully wrong… the world knows they are trying to get him.”

    ‘We’ll Take Care of It’: Grassley Reveals Never-Before-Heard Claim From First Trump Assassination Attempt

    Iowa’s senior U.S. senator, Chuck Grassley, has disclosed findings from his office’s investigation into the first assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump during a July 13 rally near Butler, Pennsylvania. Revealing the latest to Fox News, Grassley’s office shared concerning security lapses by the Secret Service, which had assured local law enforcement that it would secure the American Glass Research (AGR) building overlooking Trump’s rally – an assurance that was not fulfilled.

    The building in question was later used by Thomas Matthews Crooks, the would-be assassin who fired eight shots at Trump in under 30 seconds. Three rallygoers were hit, one fatally, and Trump himself was grazed by a bullet that came within an inch of his head. Despite these dangers, no law enforcement personnel were stationed on the roof where Crooks had taken his position.

    “Butler County law enforcement officials stated that at separate times during the walkthrough, when they reiterated their concerns to the agents and counter sniper about securing the AGR complex buildings, the agents responded: ‘we will take care of it,’” Grassley’s office revealed in a Tuesday letter to acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe.

    The Iowa senator questioned Rowe whether the Butler County law enforcement officials’ claim is true and, if so, what the Secret Service did to secure the area with the AGR complex buildings.

    Grassley noted that in the weeks following the first assassination attempt, Rowe told senators during a hearing, “what was communicated is that the locals had a plan and that they had been there before,” in regard to the roof of the AGR building where Crooks took his shots from. 

    Crooks’ final location was only discovered when bystanders noticed him army-crawling toward Trump. A local police officer attempted to access the roof, prompting Crooks to rush his first shot.

    Startling video footage, obtained by Fox News more than two weeks after the incident, showed a figure believed to be Crooks moving across the roof of the AGR building three minutes before the attack. FBI officials later revealed that Crooks accessed the roof by climbing HVAC equipment and piping, moving across multiple rooftops to establish his position about 450 feet from Trump.

    The Secret Service was aware of a potential threat 10 minutes before Trump took the stage but allowed the event to proceed. Additionally, a local law enforcement countersniper had flagged the shooter as suspicious over an hour before the attack due to his use of a rangefinder and his possession of a backpack.

    Grassley’s investigation raises serious questions about the security protocols in place during the rally and the Secret Service’s handling of the potential threat.

    Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) predicted that former president Donald Trump will back out of his next debate.

    Pelosi appeared at the Texas Tribune Festival over the weekend where she spoke to journalist Kara Swisher about a variety of topics before signing copies of her latest book. Pelosi spent much of the time ripping Trump and turned up the vitriol when Tuesday’s highly anticipated ABC News Presidential Debate came up. 

    Swisher asked Pelosi what advice she would give former President Trump ahead of the matchup with Harris. The 84-year-old Pelosi quipped, “You think he’s gonna show up?”

    The largely liberal audience burst into laughter, followed by applause, as Pelosi slightly smiled. 

    Swisher asked, “Do you know something I don’t know?”

    “I know cowardice when I see it,” Pelosi responded.

    The Trump campaign dismissed Pelosi’s suggestion of the former president skipping the debate as “fake news.”

    “Nancy Pelosi has no idea what she is talking about and has been proven to be a liar and fraud. If she isn’t busy giving herself fake titles to make herself feel better, she’s peddling fake news because it’s the only thing she’s ever done,” Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung told Fox News Digital.

    Pelosi and Trump have a long history of animosity toward each other, regularly trading barbs over the years. In 2020, Pelosi famously tore her printed copy of Trump’s State of the Union address immediately after he finished addressing a Joint Session of Congress.

    Trump and Harris are scheduled to debate on Tuesday night in Philadelphia. 

    Despite Pelosi’s best attempts to stir up trouble, the Trump campaign also released details of Trump’s scheduled arrival in the City of Brotherly Love. Air Force Trump is scheduled to land in Philadelphia at 6:30 pm on Tuesday.

    Special Counsel Files Superseding Indictment Against Trump

    Special counsel Jack Smith filed a superseding indictment in his case indicting former President Trump for his actions seeking to subvert the 2020 election

    The superseding indictment is an effort by the special counsel to respond to a ruling earlier this summer by the Supreme Court, which held that Trump and other former executives retain broad immunity for core actions they took as president and are presumptively immune for other actions taken while in office.

    While the indictment retains the original charges – a sign of Smith’s confidence in the evidence underpinning the case – it makes significant cuts in an effort “to respect and implement the Supreme Court’s holdings.”

    The filing removes former Justice Department attorney Jeffrey Clark as an unnamed, unindicted co-conspirator in the case, a reflection of specific instructions from the Supreme Court that said Trump’s conversations with Justice Department officials were protected from prosecution. 

    The superseding indictment is 10 pages shorter than the original, cutting lengthy examples from the original “speaking indictment” that walked through the evidence against Trump and his plots to remain in power.

    But the new filing takes pains to distinguish various elements of Trump’s efforts to unwind the election as actions taken purely in a private capacity – and thus conduct that can be prosecuted.

    Trump on his social media site called it “an effort to resurrect a ‘dead’ Witch Hunt” and move by Smith to “save face.”

    “Deranged Jack Smith, has brought a ridiculous new Indictment against me, which has all the problems of the old Indictment, and should be dismissed IMMEDIATELY,” Trump wrote.

    The Tuesday filing comes after Smith presented the case against the former president to a second grand jury, which had not previously heard the matter. It likewise concluded charges were warranted against the president.

    Report: Georgia Judge Disqualifies Four Candidates

    Does this affect Donald Trump‘s chance of winning Georgia‘s crucial 16 electoral votes?

    The disqualification of four independent and third-party presidential candidates from appearing on Georgia’s November ballot could have significant implications for Donald Trump in his quest for the state’s crucial 16 electoral votes.

    A state administrative law judge ruled Monday afternoon that neither the candidates nor their electors were eligible under Georgia law, delivering a setback to their efforts. However, these decisions are not yet final.

    The Georgia Recorder’s Jill Nolin provides further details:

    Chief Judge Michael Malihi also determined that former independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. did not include his real residential address on his nomination petitions, which mirrors a recent ruling by a New York court. Kennedy announced Friday that he was leaving the race and backing Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, but Kennedy has not formally withdrawn in Georgia.

    Malihi handed independent candidate Cornel West a pair of mixed opinions, finding that he was eligible to run as an independent under state law but that his electors should have filed their paperwork in their own names, not the candidate’s.

    The judge also concluded that the electors for Kennedy and socialist candidate Claudia De la Cruz made the same error on their paperwork.

    And Malihi determined that the Green Party failed to show that their candidate Jill Stein would appear on the ballot in 20 other states, which is the threshold required under a new pathway created this year by Georgia lawmakers.

    The final decision will be made by Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R), whose ruling could influence the dynamics of the presidential race in Georgia.

    Georgia Democrats originally objected to these third-party candidates appearing on the ballot in the Peach State. Their concerns are particularly relevant, given that President Joe Biden won Georgia by fewer than 12,000 votes in 2020.

    A spokesperson for Raffensperger stated Monday evening that the judge’s decisions are currently under review.

    Report: Trump Seeks To Delay Criminal Sentencing

    Former President Trump asked the New York judge who oversaw his recent criminal trial to delay his sentencing until after November’s presidential election. 

    Judge Juan Merchan previously agreed to push the date back until September so he can first decide whether the Supreme Court’s presidential immunity decision requires tossing Trump’s guilty verdict. 

    “[S]etting aside naked election-interference objectives, there is no valid countervailing reason for the Court to keep the current sentencing date on the calendar,” Trump attorneys Todd Blanche and Emil Bove wrote in a letter to the judge, which was made public Thursday. 

    “There is no basis for continuing to rush,” the letter continued. “Accordingly, we respectfully request that any sentencing, if one is needed, be adjourned until after the Presidential election.” 

    In May, a New York jury convicted Trump on all 34 counts of falsifying business records.

    Trump’s sentencing in New York was originally slated for July, but the judge pushed it back to Sept. 18 after the Supreme Court ruled that presidents are immune from criminal prosecution for official acts.

    According to The Hill, Trump does not claim immunity from the hush money charges themselves, but he asserts that prosecutors at trial improperly introduced immunized evidence, so his verdict must be wiped as a result. Prosecutors have pushed back on the argument, and Merchan is set to rule on the matter two days before sentencing.

    Trump’s attorneys said the small gap is an “unreasonably short period of time,” signaling the former president will immediately attempt to appeal if the judge rejects his immunity arguments.

    “The requested adjournment is also necessary to allow President Trump adequate time to assess and pursue state and federal appellate options in response to adverse ruling,” the letter reads.

    The letter also noted Merchan’s third refusal to recuse from the case Wednesday.

    “Notwithstanding the Court’s ruling on the disputed recusal issue, the requested adjournment would prospectively mitigate the asserted conflicts and appearances of impropriety, which are also the subject of an ongoing congressional inquiry,” Blanche and Bove wrote in the letter. 

    Special Counsel Requests Delay In Trump Jan. 6 Trial

    Special counsel Jack Smith requested a delay in former president Donald Trump’s election interference case.

    In their Thursday filing, prosecutors cited the recent Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity in their request to delay several weeks.

    “Although those consultations are well underway, the Government has not finalized its position on the most appropriate schedule for the parties to brief issues related to the decision,” prosecutors wrote in the filing. “The Government therefore respectfully requests additional time to provide the Court with an informed proposal regarding the schedule for pretrial proceedings moving forward.”

    The request by Smith’s team is a distinct change from its typical approach since the beginning of the case which sought to expedite matters.

    The Daily Caller noted that in December, Smith asked the Supreme Court to consider the presidential immunity issue before allowing the appeals court to decide, but the justices declined to take it up early.

    The Supreme Court found 6-3 last month that presidents are immune from prosecution for official acts taken in office.

    “Under our constitutional structure of separated powers, the nature of Presidential power entitles a former President to absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority,” the court held. “And he is entitled to at least presumptive immunity from prosecution for all his official acts. There is no immunity for unofficial acts.”

    The justices left lower courts to decide which allegations in Trump’s indictment are “official acts” subject to immunity.

    Trump Injured At Rally, Possibly Shot – Suspect Down

    Two sources briefed The New York Times that a rally attendee was killed in the assassination attempt.

    UPDATE: 7:36 pm

    New video footage from the Butler Farm Show grounds shows the body of the attempted assassin on the roof of building approximately 400 feet from where President Trump was speaking. Gunfire from Secret Service agents killed him. The suspect’s identity remains unknown.

    The shooter on the roof fired at Trump from outside the security perimeter, using the elevated position for a clear line of sight.

    A witness on a nearby building informed a BBC reporter that he had seen the shooter crawling onto the roof with a rifle and had tried to warn law enforcement for “two or three minutes” prior to the shooting.

    The Secret Service has confirmed that former President Donald Trump is safe and under protective measures following the shooting at today’s rally. A spokesperson stated that Trump is “fine” and described the incident as a “heinous act.” However, specific details about what transpired at the event remain scant.

    The suspect has been “neutralized,” according to law enforcement sources.

    Former President Donald Trump defiantly raised his fist following an apparent assassination attempt at today’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

    Moments after the first shot rang out, Trump reached toward his ear and blood streaked across his face.

    The shots came as Trump began discussing immigration in his stump speech. Bystanders said the sound resembled that of a small-caliber weapon.

    Secret Service agents quickly whisked Trump off the stage, but not before he signaled to the crowd and appeared to shout the word “fight” multiple times.

    Billionaire Elon Musk voiced his support for Trump following the attack. “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk said.

    The entrepreneur made a substantial donation to a pro-Trump super PAC backing the Republican nominee in swing states, according to a report from Bloomberg on Friday. The exact amount of the donation was not disclosed.
